3) Since a lot of that secret seems to be directed at me (assuming I'm the person who "tries her hardest" to draw out lurkers), I will respond. The point of a lot of my recent "draw lurkers out" campaign is that I, too, am a human, and like other humans, I, too, have doubts (plenty of them) and sometimes must work to convince myself to write. What you are going through isn't unique, and it sure as hell isn't limited to you and other lurkers. We people you're so intimidated by get the very same feelings. We're not so unlike one another, is what I'm driving at. Maybe externally, but not at the core of our self-doubts. However, you seem to think we don't have them, and that's just not the case.

15. I know what you mean...so many people comment on my fics saying that I made them cry/sad/upset, and usually I don't get that upset while writing them - well, my post-DH twin fanfics excluded, for the most part...

38. Seriously, I loved her to pieces in that movie and I didn't even realize they were the same actress until I looked up her IMDB page after I saw it. All I remembered was that she was Kitty in X3, and I hated Kitty like burning. (To be honest, I only saw the movie for Michael Cera, but I thought it was absolutely amazing.)

42. FUCK YES. I slash'd them so hardcore while watching the movie the first time, and I was SO MAD when Abigail was introduced, (because seriously, who couldn't see that coming from the introduction? XD) and then the second movie came out and I nearly fainted from all the subtext. Riley/Ben ftw.

47. I actually like 13 better than Cameron, but that's not saying much. :/ Cuddy > other females in House.

It's not yandere fans in general, it's Kaede fans. Like Kotonoha and Ryouko and whoever else all you want. Even like Kaede. But most of her fanbase is just plain scary.

13. Half of the characters in that piled image are painfully, blatantly, obviously male. Maybe it's just me, but I've never had a problem with identifying them as their gender? It's not just about the hair, ya'know.

I actually worded my secret wrong and it makes it say that all anime guys with long hair are girly. That's actually not what I meant to say, though... It was that it bothers me when they have long hair in general. It's just that sometimes they look girly. I am aware that a lot of the guys on there don't look like women, but they're still girly. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I can be so careless!

I'm so late, but whatever. |D I find it really funny that a friend and I used to play a couple of characters, and used those two for their PBs. And they hooked up and made with the yummy. It was delicious. XD

46. Indeed. The only fic comm I watch these days is mylar_fic, and that has nothing to do with quality; I'm just too addicted to the pairing to stop. (Though I'm not sure I think there was loads of good fic then, but yeah, there was a fair share to read.)

21. I have to agree with this one, though I love anime as much as the next person does and I do ship my favorite characters, I realize I will never meet anyone like them in real life, for the love of god if I ever did meet them in real life I would kill them first rather then screw them.
And its hypocritical to love fantasy sex pairings but hating or finding real life pairing disgusting. I mean if you spend all your time loving a 2D picture then a 3D real live person what dose that say about you, that you are stuck in a delusional fantasy land and need to seek professional help.
Really people get a life and stop having fantasies about screwing some anime boy or girl and get a real person, or go out and have some real sex instead of your fantasy.

Am I the only one who actually really enjoys being a loser? D: I've tried the whole 'hang-out-in-big-groups-of-friends-and-go-to-their-houses-constantly-and-go-wandering-about-together-a-lot' thing and I found it kinda boring. I just wanted to go home and draw and write some more xDD

Butyeah. OP, you can have a real life and spend time with loads of offline friends and still occasionally come along to enjoy fandom and hang out with online friends yanno.

I went through all 8 pages of comments to see if anyone at ALL said something kind to you. They didn't. I wasn't surprised and I figure you won't read this, but if you do-- I, at least, understand. If I'm still wasting my time in fandom five-ten years from now when I should be starting my own family and making an actual life for myself, I honestly believe that someone needs to slap me upside the head and make me get a grip. It's not all about me and my selfish enjoyment, other people, flesh and blood and face-to-face, they need my attention too.

Even with all the technology that pervades our everyday lives, there's still an actual world out there and you can't live in it if your head's constantly stuck in fantasy. It's fun in moderation, and don't get me wrong when I've had nothing else going I've spent days entirely absorbed in something, but I'm young and irresponsible now. I can balance RL and fandom to an extent, but sometimes both can suffer for it. Living one life fully instead of multiple lives poorly is nothing to be ashamed of. Some people can balance it. But there's nothing wrong with not.

Yes. Because, OF COURSE, my entire life revolves around fandom. Of course noone in fandom couldn't possibly be doing it as a way to enjoy something, AND have time to have a family, and friends, and other adult things. I'm sure that some people can balance a family, and friends, and a small hobby online. Really. That's like saying in 10 years if you're still reading, you shouldn't be because OH! It's not related to having a family and friends and a 'life' so it's wrong now you're older.

akiraakito best explains what i'm trying to say. the secret wasn't about RPs or anime vs. real yaoi. it's supposed to be about not understand anime fans.

what a lot of anime fans find wrong:
real people in general. man, woman, anything. they're so caught up in a fantasy world that they forget people exist. i'm not talking about Gackt & Miyavi in general, a couple I happen to like (which btw, A LOT of jrockers do fanservice, which lead to such things). Even a fluff of a music, tv show, movie, etc. couple would make them squirm, if it wasn't animated

what a lot of anime fans find ok:
"I masturbated to this picture of *Naruto, InuYasha, insert character name here* because that scene was SOOOOO hot!"
Does that sound normal? No, it sounds WEIRD. It's not even porn! At least do it to an anime porn ~~which still I find weird, but whatever.~~ You will never have sex with a ninja or a dog demon or whatever- get over it. Sure, you can love the anime to death, but mastubating to it. Isn't that overboard? Anime fans don't find that weird because they're stuck in a fantasy world.

Dude, people don't have to have their sexual fantasies approved by you. I find a lot of things sexy that you might find "weird"-- and vice versa! Sexual fantasies are all about personal taste and idealized situations; in other words, they're fantasies.

And having sexual fantasies doesn't mean that someone's living in a fantasy world. No, I might never have sex with a dog demon or a gunslinger or a ninja or a pirate, or whatever. And all those women who DON'T watch anime will never be part of a harem, kidnapped by dark handsome strangers, forced to go down on another girl, or whatever. EVERYONE has fantasies, and yes, those sexual fantasies may be inspired or fueled by things people have read or seen-- fictional things.

Honestly, I find it a bit "weird" that you picked jrockers to represent your...thing. Like band members and lead singers and actors don't put on a front to the public! Like the act you see them put on is anything more than an act! The people you "know" them to be is at least as fictional as any character in a fictional tv show (animated or not).

That's why it's all just fantasy.

And if it's wrong to live in a fantasy world for ten minutes...
