I told you someone was creating problems deliberately, trying to get stuff shut down and more rules larded on, but you all blamed me instead. Said I must be the problem. Fuck you all in the neck. Can we now get these rash of rules about spoilers and what you can and cannot say rescinded, as well as a commitment to stop freezing threads and deleting stuff now. 'Sides' aside, I don't think OP's intent really matters here with regards to that. If they accidentally happened to stumble across the spoiler rule that most people turned out to want, then well, that's a happy accident. If they were were intending to troll with it, it only says they didn't really manage to troll at all, not that it's a bad rule or that people suddenly don't want it any more.

And that's another thing, why is it you cater exclusively to the named users? Anons though not be made to feel like 2nd class citizens on an anon community. You'll drop the hammer if a name feels uncomfortable, but if people are just insulting anons then you'll let them run riot. I've had so much abuse from the named users as an anon and you always ignore it. Fuck you. If you are going to play the mod, then the least you can do is be impartial and ignore whether it is a name or an anon. Stop making it about your ego not wanting to admit you were wrong. If you are going to cater to the names and ignore the anons, on a fucking anon community, then just turn off the anon commenting, period. Either that or go all anon. Actually, do that. From what I can see, the one significant difference in nodding around names and anon is when it comes to stalking - but that's something that anon don't deal with and that's also really quite bad. But I am sorry you feel treated unfairly.

I don't cater to them exclusively! The problem is that anon itself is a double-edged sword - I can't exactly tell which anon is you all the time, so there's no way for me to tell whether someone is stalking you around to harass. There's also no way any user could be intentionally stalking you around to harass you, since you're anon and they too have no idea who you are.

I'd always thought that was a given - everyone has the option to go anon (and take the "can't be recognized" merit in exchange for the "can't be recognized" flaw) or make an account (it takes 5 minutes) and those that go one way are opting to go that way. No one is forcing you to stay anon!

Regarding the spoiler thing, I had no stance on it, so I'm not really sure what egos have to do with that. I went with what most people voted for, and that was for the spoiler rule. Could you specify what I could have done correctly or incorrect there, besides maybe a counting mistake (but if I recall correctly there was a significant difference, like 6-8 votes)?

I'm not sure it's that simple. i suspect there's a lot of different people causing problems in a lot of different ways. Some people were spoiling things to piss people off, some people were rules layering to piss people off, but that doesn't mean it was the same people. And while this person might be rules layering, there definitely were people who were genuinely in favor of any of those rules.

I don't think this is a pro vs anti thing, really. It's at least a little more complicated. And I'm not sure if getting rid of all the rules is a good solution - although I do think that Case has been maybe a bit heavy handed, and that a thread like number 6 today whose main purpose seemed to be goofing off might not need to be froze. But like, on some level, having spoiler warnings is not a bad thing, I don't think. Having a norm about triggers isn't a bad thing. It's just a matter of figuring out how to do it well. But I really do want to hear what you think on that.

Just about every thread that has been frozen over the last six months did not need to be. Especially the ones where two people are goofily ttrolling the other and both parties knew it and were clearly having fun. Then it got fucking frozen because some little bitch went and got it shut down to spread the misery. Case really needs to stop interfering so much in GC. Should just post the secrets and then leave it be after that.

Well, I guess what I'd say is - how are you so sure when it's two parties goofing and trolling each other, and when it's not? I'm not sure Case is perfect at that and there are probably some threads that could have been left, but I kind of doubt that you're perfect at it either. I think there have been threads that have gotten legitimately heated with personal insults. Are you against Case freezing those? Why?

I don't agree. Case froze several threads that were just personal attacks on me. They certainly didn't contribute to the post or any conversation. I didn't report them to case, but someone did, and if it was rule-lawyering!nonny I can only give them my thanks.

Ignoring the fact that you have no way of telling when two people are trolling each other or not...Everyone else has to see the threads too, and nasty personal attacks aren't pleasant to witness even as a bystander.
