22. I miss it every once in a while, but I'd never wish for more of it. In fact, I wish there was LESS of it. Everything after the big reveal regarding Skids just saddens me so much. I wish I could unread that and never know who she decided he really was deep down.

44. You and I, we are opposites. I adore Mononoke and the Bake Neko arc from Ayakashi and was bored by the rest of it. Well, the second arc was pretty good, but the first one I loathed. Couldn't stand it, even with the pretty Amano designs.

36: Any pairing claimed to be canon is really just one-sided. Kyoko isn't definitely into Tsuna and Haru...really one-sided. I'm assuming Colonello and Lal Mirch will turn out to be canon if we see some more flashbacks, but otherwise the only real canon is NANA/IEMITSU!!!

23. Hot damn, he's in Grim Adventures? MUST WATCH. His work as Zim was fantastic, the only thing stopping me from having a mad voice-actor crush on him is the fact that I haven't heard him do anything else yet.

Because I thought (and still think) Franziska with seven more years of growing up and maturing after learning what she did in 2-4 and 3-5 and without the influence of her father to warp her worldview?

49: I can and frequently read books that are generally considered intellectually stimulating. And while the Twilight fandom is kind of ridiculous and the movie is probably going to be so bad it hurts, I enjoy the series. It's simple, it's cute, and it's a means of escape. Plus, idk, at least there's no opportunity for Twincest. Yet.

While Sakura is nowhere near the best female lead to walk the planet ever, don't you DARE fucking call her useless, much less to the plot. What the hell manga you're reading, I don't know. I never liked her "just because she's a ninja"--I liked her for the same reasons I liked Hinata: they had no idea what the fuck they were doing but kept trucking anyway because it's their nindo to not be useless.

I'm curious, then: what do you think would change if she was written out of Part One entirely? Because she definitely became less useless in Part Two, but in Part One she seemed to exist solely to make the boys look awesome by comparison.

I hope to god we get Franziska to at least cameo in Gyakuten Kenji. She's one of my favorite characters, I am so gay for her, and I'd take her any day of the week over dull, boring guys like Godot or Klavier that the fandom seems to worship.

I really don't think of myself as being into S&M at all but I would SO let her whip me.

24. Yeah, there's some range of ages there but Utena herself is 14. I always thought everyone in that show seemed way too old too. This is what made me finally give up on anime ages ever making any sense. When they're not too old, they're too young.

Consider the following: At the end of Azumanga Daioh, Chiyo is 13. Chiyo is only one year younger than Utena. Anime doesn't make sense. Thank you.

I've always felt that a good many of the animes I watch underage the characters to make them sexier to all those fuckin pedos out there.
The guys especially in Utena come off as older, and I was really mature at 16. I agree with you, anon.

42. EPIC FAIL. FFS. Just because you don't like a character (despite some of the "better alternatives" you listed having pretty much the same problems, but...) doesn't mean that anyone who does is deluded and needs to be shown the light.

"Your poor deluded Sakura fangirls! Let me show you better characters so you may break away from that horrible useless bint!"

Faaaail. The majority of Sakura fans are aware of her failings and find that they are part of what make her character interesting. Which, despite Kishimoto's tendency to fail at remembering girls exist, it actually is most of the time. Deal.

16. TV Tropes is my number one internet destination. I’d edit it, but my HTML skills are just so crap. So I just enjoy, and search for every new canon I’ve had passing relations to. It influences what I watch more than recommendations from my friends or what catches my interests in Fandom Secrets. Finally, something that shares my obsession with patterns.

22. Dude, yes! On one hand, I appreciate the fact that it ended. But on the other hand, I wish she hadn’t built up our expectations for a climax that… sorta dwindled away. But it’s hard to make yourself work when you lose enthusiasm for your story.

26. Hmm, I have the opposite reaction. Because the more the Doctor is related, through imagery or anvilicious metaphors, to Christ, I find myself more turned off from the character. Because he is a very flawed individual. Flawed characters are awesome, but not when I get the impression that the creators are not acknowledging their weaknesses, and instead trying to paint a character into a Messiah when it just doesn’t fit.

29. Utena is supposed to be 13, Anthy is 14. I know this intellectually, but no. I guess I always assumed she was older, and that stuck. I think I bump all the characters’ age up a couple years.

31. A cross-over? That might actually work with Lucius and Wolfram, but hmm… how would you get baking into it? I have the strangest feeling that Wolfram’s idea of baking would be burning wheat fields, and being angry when that doesn’t transform the crops into loafs.

42. But maybe that person relates to the way Sakura feels, how she keeps trying even though she’s out of her league in many ways, and the manner in which she transforms herself? Maybe they find themselves in a similar situation… without ninja, of course. It’s not helpful to dictate to someone who their favorite character should be. It’s a really subjective, sometimes random thing. One of my favorite characters is a charisma vacuum who is an ass to his girlfriend and her best friend, and is almost universally hated in fandom. But I relate to where he is in his life.

And just because Sakura might be someone’s favorite character, this doesn’t mean that she can’t love Toph, Kitty, Azula, Inara, Fai Valentine, the Oracle, Zoe, Katara, Wonder Woman, Storm, etc. as well.

61. Haha, ok, related my response above. Yay, GG secret! I really enjoy Blair, but I feel that a large part of fandom lets her off the hook. Jenny is basically acting just like Blair would, but she’s getting complete hate for it. I feel so weird, because I really adore both of them. Hell, I love everyone on this damn show, except Vanessa who’s sorta scary and her eyes do weird things.
