Pretend you're in the market for a house. You find a house at a really, really good price, but it's rumored to be haunted and several of the previous owners have gone nuts or died in it of supposedly mysterious causes. Would you go for the house?

What about a house that isn't rumored to be haunted, but was the home of a known serial killer who killed multiple people in it very recently?

I'd not live in a haunted house if I could find actual proof that past owners went crazy or mysteriously died. There is a reason it is such a good price. ಠ_ಠ

As for the serial killer, it really depends on what kind of serial killer and how famous he was.

If I loved the house, if the price was really cheap, and if it's been thoroughly cleaned, then yes in both cases.

I'd be daunted at buying the serial killer house, but that is more because it would probably have looky-loos turning up and some degree of press intrusion. You can imagine the scum or the wail headlines "Killer's House Owner Fails to Cut Lawn!!! Families Victims In Uproar!!!". That sort of thing.

Haunted house, I'd buy it, using the supposed hauntings to play hardball on the price, then burn a little sage, invite the local vicar and priest (not at the same time) and maybe Buddhist Monk as we have a Buddhist community nearby, to give it a blessing. Move straight in.

I don't mind that people are upset. I am too, and have said my piece. It's more that that's all anyone's talking about. I think it's good to be aware of the protests and actions against him, I think there are many things we need to talk about, but at a certain point it's really draining.

I was donating some stuff to the local foodbank drop off today at the supermarket, and as I arrived there was a woman taking out brand named cans, putting them in her bags and then putting generic and supermarket own brand stuff in. When I challenged her she said that it wasn't right that [slur for poor people] got good stuff and she was entitled to take it and leave the type of food they deserved. I went and got a member of store staff, but by the time we got back she'd legged it. They said they'd look through the security footage, but I doubt that'll do any good.

You gotta wonder about some people. Ripping off the poor to get brand name produce while only paying for generic brand herself. She certainly wasn't poor herself, she had a decently expensive hairdo and cut of clothing. Usually when the rich exploit the poor, they at least have the decency to do it at a distance, but that is just sick. I bet she goes around all the local supermarket foodbank drop offs too. Just sickening. And the whole thing about the poor not deserving name brand products... I have no words.

The election and its results are exhausting and stressing me, inside and out. I'm incredibly disillusioned and feeling helpless in many, many ways.

It's straining a few of my online friendships - while most of my friends are liberal, one group is more conservative than me by a considerable margin, moreso as the years have gone on, and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable with some of their more recent posts (citing Project Veritas and Peter Thiel as reliable sources, among other things), mostly because they've been disenchanted from the left by bullying from SJWs. I still respect them as friends, and they've been there for me in bad times, but I get enough right-wing stuff IRL and in unpleasant circumstances that I don't particularly want to see it on my dash.

They don't know that they're upsetting me because I'm too scared to tell them, and I'm worried that if I just quietly unfollow them or reblog anti-Trump posts it'll be taken as a sign that I've "gone SJW" and can't handle dissenting opinions. At the same time, part of me thinks that if being openly anti-Trump makes me an SJW then I guess I'm an SJW now.

I really don't know what to do. I might just take a breather from fandom until things calm down. I'm just tired and miserable and even getting depressed from all the stress.

It sucks posting a fill on a kinkmeme, and no-one reacting the whole day, while other stories have gotten reactions and new prompts were posted. People were reading, just not my stuff, or not enough to like.

I know the F!S mentality is "you should write for yourself", but screw that. Especially if doing a fill, I hope people like it. Even if it's not a prompted story, being appreciated is nice. It's certainly not my sole reason for writing, but I don't understand people who say that comments or kudos don't matter to them.

I want to write smut. Smut's popular, I like reading smut. I've RPed tons of smut. I have a dozen ideas for smut.

I keep staring at the word doc thinking of all the various ways I can do it wrong. Use the wrong word, wrong terms, too generic, too weird, too flowery, too clinical.

I kind of just want to write "And then they touched dicks. A lot. And it was awesomesauce. The end. " and give up forever.
