32. That picture...is HOT.

34. While I don't agree with the secret itself...YAY, ROCKY HORROR.

not secret 1: HOLY SHIT.

34, 65, 80

[identity profile] stormithe.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
34. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way D: It honestly did not make me feel any different about different lifestyles as far as sexuality and gender expression goes. I just watched it because I love musicals, it's one of my favourite movies!!

65. They argue like a married couple c:

80. I don't even know what this is, but I always feel bad for animals in movies/shows ;_;

[identity profile] pimmy.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
3. I SEE THAT ONE MONSTER GUY IN YOUR SECRET.

I LOVED THAT GUY. WHAT WAS HIS NAME AHHH (top right)

62

IT'S NOT JUST YOU

20 - i beg to differ. there is no one more sue-ish than twilight's bella. -dies-
33 - no, no. that's a pretty epic way to die, imho.
35 - lololol. no thank you.
72 - who is that?

i'm getting tired of all these slash ships. bah.

Aaron Dismuke, Voice Actor and fandom darling for speaking Alphonse Elric in FullMetal Alchemist here in America.

10. I think you have that backwards. Wouldn't the obviously older purple girl be the orange girl in the future? The topic nouns are confusing me.

11. The only way Star Trek should be resurrected is if they make another series AFTER Voyager and not before TOS.

42. I'm sure it's just as awesome if your scanning light is red. I love Cylons. :|

70. CHEERS. There are MAJOR differences between Cam and John, and Vala and Aeryn. If they can't care to notice them, then I wonder if they're really watching? Is it THAT hard to be able to recognize characters' differences just because their actor is the same person?

Re: #10, 11, 42, 70

[identity profile] acaciabrown.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't they make one after Voyager? I'd tear my eyes out if it went backwards again. Can't they jump 200 years in the future? And we can have shiny new technology? I miss it, so .. much.

7. Ha ha ha, likewise. I think there are Darcys and Wentworths and Bingleys and Knightleys out there, but have yet to find even one. I read the books, and still know stuff like that can't happen irl. Because of JA, i was jaded at the age of 14. Not that I'm complaining. I love the books all to pieces.

12. YES. The central part of the movie isn't about the muppets, or the songs, or David Bowie's pants (though those are pretty important). It's about a girl growing up! I love to read Jareth/Sarah smut just as much as the next person, but I do wish people saw the other side of the movie more too.

14. Word. Can't forget, Mr. Darcy started out as a pretentious, socially awkward prick with a superiority complex like nothing else. It takes a lot of work to turn that into something smolderingly sexy. XD

32. I love that fanart series! And while I think Naruto as is is an okay show, I would love it if the genders were swapped. It would make it all a lot more interesting.

35. This one's been pretty thoroughly reamed. Just seconding the general disgust and hilarity (who knew the two could go together!)

38. BEST SHOW EVER. I'm so behind though! It was hard to catch up after the strike ended. But I loooove it!

50. Word. hottest guy on that show, no doubt.

mmm, David Bowie's pants.

#43 - Ohhh, me too! ;)

#53 - Yeah, that is kinda odd. Ah well.

#56 - Kunal Kapoor and...?

Late comment is late...

01. Oh, man, me too! Except that I was scared of putting my shoes on, not going to the bathroom. I used to always check my shoes before putting them on. If I re-watched the movie now, I’d probably think it was so cheesy, but when I was little it terrified me!

31. I didn’t cry, but I did shake my fist in rage. The ending made me more angry than sad, because I felt it could have been done so much better :\

33. I hated how he died! The series didn’t interest me as much after his death, but THE way he died was so anticlimactic that it didn’t even register until later on. I wouldn’t be mad to see his death re-written, so I hope your friends don’t get upset about it, either.

58. I’m sorry, but I actually LOL’ed when I read this.

59. OHMAN. I cried when Lampy sacrificed himself, too! That was one of my favorite movies when I was little. I don’t think I shipped any of the characters, though, sry2say.

65. LMAO! I knew that someone was going to post a sekrit about those two. Thanks, anon :D

35. Can't I just hate it because it's bad? I agree with you, Deathly Hallows wasn't the greatest. But Twilight and its ilk are unreadable. And I love trashy vampire novels.

Regardless, I hope you enjoy the movie - maybe it will make the unreadable somewhat tolerable.

68. HI.

36. Wow... illiterate much?
37. Indeed! I have an appreciation for the old films, but I hate how Old!Who fans lump all us New!Who ppl into one big ugly ball. We're not monolithic!
52. BEST MOVIE EVER! I so wanted to be a Shithead... I want the college I apply to to be just as cool as South Harmon.
66.WHYYYYY? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGL;AKJOIUHPHANERGARZNFGZF
67. I know, I have that problem too! I'm very reluctant when it comes to sending my sex scenes out into the world because I have limited sexual experience IRL. Going through the motions is one thing; capturing the feel of the participants... that's what i worry about the most.

Hmm. I'm a fan of Cormac McCarthy myself, and while I've read reviews where people couldn't stomach the amount of violence that he typically packs into his stories, or were turned off by the dark existentialism/nihilism, yours is the first I've read that expressed boredom at his work. It surprises me a little, is all.

Oh well. I'll be the first to admit that he's certainly not for everyone.

Out of curiosity, did you see the film version of NCfOM? If so, did you find it any more interesting than the written work?

Re: 27

[identity profile] pukingtoreador.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
No, I haven't seen the film version. Something about his style is really dry and blah.

19. I never liked Ron. I wanted to, but he just never grew on me. Um... in the course of seven books. He was kind of ridiculous sometimes. :/

20. -_- Howwwwww.

36. I want to agree about R/D being overdone, and extol upon the awesomeness of Martha in Torchwood, in a long-winded manner, but I'm sure it's been said a billion times before.

37. Dammit, OP, where WERE you in the seventies? God, where were your PARENTS? What were they doing, wasting all that time, when they knew their baby would never be able to watch the old Doctor Who? GEEZ, IT'S CALLED "CIVIC DUTY, PEOPLE."

;D

55. Wait... being in fandom is socially accepted? Man, I'm a lot cooler than I thought I was!

66. Did you have to? xD I can't think about Jenny any further than, "Holy crap, she was born with eyeliner and mascara on."

74. LAWL, what?!? xD xD xD Racist!secret is so. Effing. Racist. Of all the reasons not to support this pairing, yours is the most original I've ever heard.

Can your next secret be: "Things I want to do to Sylar: wax his chest hair" ? "Things I want to do to Mohinder: make him white like Michael Jackson" ?

I don't agree, OP. That would ruin the magic for me.

77. OH GOD NO. xD Okay, okay, if he'd killed his dad, I'd agree. That would have symbolized he'd gotten over the kidney thing. But seriously, the guy is effing crazy.

Re: 19, 20, 36, 37, 55, 66, 74, 77

[identity profile] rampant-chaos8.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Thank god I'm not alone. YAY!

I wanted to like Ron too, but all he did was piss me off time and time again. His behavior in Deathly Hallows definitely killed it for me. I don't care if he came back and saved Harry and all that jazz: he still freaking left them in the tents because he was hungry. Geez.

20. Jenny is a perfect example of a Sue done awesomely, I feel!

54. Did you know that no literary critic on the planet who is not a crazy Objectivist thinks that that book is anything other than a waste of trees? I agree with their assessment liek woah.

60. ...now I've seen everything.

64. Go on, find the board you want, write something in the top box, upload an image if you want to, and hit 'post.'

35. Some of us can separate them enough in our heads to judge them on their merits, you know.

SPARKLY. FUCKING. VAMPIRES. Yeah, I actually think Deathly Hallows was better.

2. 12. 13. 70.

[identity profile] glamourcorpse.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
2. RON IS HOT SEX.

12. Yes. It's the real big point of the film. Everything else is beautiful and fun, but growing up is the point.

13. What is with this FS post? Two secrets with men I have the hots for? Tony is amazing.

70. Cam/Vala hun? How does that...that doesn't even make sense. Okay, we get Ben and Claud have mad crazy chemistry, but not as Vala/Cam. Aww now I am thinking about Daniel/Vala. *grins* Too cute.

49. Oh, oh Zweig. I loved the game, but I thought he was the hottest.

Lots of them!

07. Your reason is better than mine. My reason is just that the kinds of relationships people consider "realistic" to want don't appeal to me much.

16. I would agree with you, but I actually know people in RL that like her, so maybe it's just some of them. Actually I always thought she was a fine villain to have, it's just my annoyance with people who think having tits should make you unkillable and that even if you try to kill men they should never call you names that makes me especially hate her. Way to go, SPN fandom. Some of us understand that it's not necessary to adore all people who have vaginas unconditionally in order to prove that we don't hate our own.

19. Probably, in my experience Goodshippers don't want to hear logic about him. I mean, I don't like him and I got called a Harmonian even though I only ever wrote H/D and H/G, never H/Hr.

24. Oh G-d me too.

35. I was in the HP fandom from 2000-2005, when exactly was it supposed to be nice? Because I totally missed the nice years.

37. Eh. I was born in 1964 and watched the old show after school. But I still like 9 the best of all the Doctors.

39. I would say WORD because I don't like Logan either, but. I also don't like Duncan that much. None of the 09ers was enough of a friend to her to stand up for her after what happened to her. What's wrong with Weevil? He's totally fucking hot.

54. I love Ayn Rand and I am not an Objectivist. I never was. I used to be a Libertarian but I got better, and I was one of those before I read Ayn Rand. It's fiction. People who don't agree with Objectivism need to get that liking the books as the fiction that they are doesn't mean that you are an Objectivist. It just means you like them. (Although, Rearden > Galt. That steel bracelet is the most romantic present ever.)

63. It was a cheap shot to make us like her and I don't accept it. Like the idea that Owen in Torchwood was nice until his girlfriend's brain was eaten by aliens, it's stupid. Some people are just assholes.

74. OMG SO MUCH FAIL. SRSLY, STFU AND GO BACK TO YAOI-LAND. Slash is for people who like real men in all shapes and sizes and colours and clearly you are not old enough for it. My OTP > you. Also, OMG ANTISEMITE. Hitler's Angels is that you? No wait, your photoshop is too good.

80. :) Yep, you're right. That is THE WORST thing about it. Of course only a selfish person would get a (very expensive) cat knowing they were going to die in 10 years. Fortunately there are some great Siamese rescues out there.

TB!3: I work in a teaching hospital (not as a doctor) in the transplant department and every time they do transplant stuff it drives me nuts how much they get wrong, but I can totally believe that, because they do bring up all kinds of weird problems and diseases that you would ordinarily never think of and there are certainly cases of people that are that bizarre, just not so many at one hospital.

TB!4: You're missing the point, as so many of her fans seem to do. It's not that she "didn't deserve" to be saved. It's that she was constantly trying to screw them over and she lied so much that there was no reason to believe a word she said was anything other than another attempt to manipulate them into fucking themselves over. They saved people who didn't "deserve it" all the time. (Arguably I believe that no one deserves THAT.) But they don't save people who are trying to kill them from the results of their own actions more than once. Therefore, she's dead, just like Gordon, and the preacher's wife in Faith. Because she was trying to kill them. But I know, she's a woman (and zomg an abuse survivor!), so she should never die or be called mean names, no matter what she's done to them. CRY MOAR.

You got called a Harmonian just because you didn't like Ron? That's crazy. But I think you're probably right. I'm definitely a Goodshipper because it was the logical one, and not because I had any crazy attachment to both Ron and Hermione.
