35. "Oh, HP, you used to be such a nice fandom." *eyeballs fall out*

74. Which is fortunate in the long run, since it meant I was unable to read this secret.

(Anonymous) 2008-05-18 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
66. This is one of those time I'd actually find RPF preferable.

[identity profile] slatterly.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
12. Ugh, yes. They did that in the sequel comic, too, I think. Heroine's misguided beliefs != reality.

61. YEAH more James secrets! It seems like everyone's loving on James lately, what's with that.

65. They even bantered! And hey, I didn't even realize that was Paul Bettany, awesome.

67. You do research. That makes you just fine in my book.

12. Ugh, yes. They did that in the sequel comic, too, I think. Heroine's misguided beliefs != reality.

Yeah, I couldn't even get through the comic partially due to that. And I wanted very much to like it, too.

15

15. I have no fucking idea what this show/movie/game/comic/etc is... but holy CRAP I laughed so hard.

[identity profile] keysha-chan.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
24) To this day, that cry still haunts me. I was tempted to go see the live musical that was on last year, but the thought of that alien cry still freaked me out. I know where you're coming from. @_@

24

[identity profile] kateorman.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
24. During the show, they lowered a model fighting machine onto the stage. Sadly, we were in the balcony, above the model, making it look sort of small and cute rather than looming and menacing. I immediately named it "Binky" and will never be able to look at a Martian fighting machine with the same puddling terror again.

22: James Spader is the only Dr. Jackson to me!

26: Isn't this becoming a little repetative? No, you're not the only one, yes, most fanfic is about exploring things not in canon, and no, falling in love doesn't ruin friendships.

32: This again too? No, people would not hate Naruto if he'd been a girl, because girl characters of that type does not exist yet. Fans would welcome a girl character like that with open arms (not to mention how it would be a revolution for the whole industry; I find it really telling that the characters in the picture aren't actually dressed like their canon counterparts, nor does their hair look the same).

74: The thing is, that really is racist. You don't sound very old, so I'll be gentle; you should really try to work on your perceptions of beauty. There's no accounting for taste, of course, but try and examine your thoughts to find out how much of them come from propaganda. Such as jewish men being universally hairy (wtf?).

#12: HALLELUJAH, AMEN. I am beginning to think (scratch that, have ALWAYS thought) that fans who write her parents this way do so because they're teens themselves who are convinced that their own parents are TEH EVAL for demanding that they clean their rooms, impose 10PM curfews, and won't let them drive the car to the mall. Her parents may be as flawed as anyone else's, but they seem pretty normal. I even recognized this when I watched the film as a teen myself.

#29: Yeah, they're my evil robot OTP, as well. :D

#62 OH YES, THANK YOU. I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE! EVEN IF I'M PROBABLY GOING TO HELL FOR IT NOW.

02: I don't even know who the 'superhunks' are these days. Everyone seems to like little emo boys. Anyway, unconventional men for the win!

12: I hate her stepmother for saying she should have dates (mainly because my mother always used to pressure me about my lack of love life), but on the whole, I agree with you.

21: Edmund and Peter?

35: Well, yes, the last book was awful, but that has no bearing on Twilight being crap.

74: I suppose you can't help what you're attracted to...but I really don't get how Indian = unattractive. :/

77: Sayid and Sawyer are pretty kick-ass (I would quite happily sit and throw rocks at Jack's head for entertainment) but Locke is by far the best character. I really wish there was an active comm for him on LJ...if Ben can have one, surely it's not too much to ask?

IMO, they're both VERY overrated.

04. Nah, go ahead and have a cry. Community entropy sucks major balls.

09. I thought Judas in the movie was fantastic. Far more emotional than I'd ever thought Judas could be, and I like that whole "Jesus asked Judas to betray him" theory.

16. I see Bela, I think Lugosi.

21. AWW

Also. Skander in Caspian = FUCK YEAH WHITE-WITCH STABBING

24. That battle cry thing scared me in the Tom Cruise remake.

Creepy as hell.

34. I'M JUST A SWEET TRANSVESTITE

FROM TRANSSEXUAL

TRANSYLVAAAANIAAAAAAAAA

43. But, if you embrace your weirdness and radiate satisfied confidence, they will admire you all the more for it.

52. I liked Accepted.

59. THAT MOVIE MADE UP A GOOD PORTION OF MY CHILDHOOD

ALSO, WORTHLESS = COMMENTARY ON DISPOSABLE SOCIETY

64. You go to Random (this is /b/), find a thread, leave a comment, move on.

68. Please tell me that they didn't have to make out for Charlie Brown.

There is no making out in Charlie Brown!

80. Bela Lugosi's Dead.

9

[identity profile] pwnmastersaurus.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Carl Anderson will always be the best Judas. And if you like the idea that Jesus asked Judas to betray him, you might want to read The Gospel of Judas sometime; it's a Gnostic gospel which expands on that theory.

74 again

[identity profile] arcadiaego.livejournal.com 2008-05-18 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, I'm pretty sure ZQ has a Catholic background. So I guess your theory about Jews being hairy beasts is a bit of a crock really.

OMG Guild Wars secret yay!!!

That whole Mhenlo & Cynn thing pisses me off. If I have to listen to them bitch at each other outside Kaineng Center one more time I'm going to hit them both.

Although it does bring the lulz in EOTN where there's like a crowd of ladies around Mhenlo and he's like, breakdancing or something and Cynn is off to the side all DX

That's the problem, they're a complete and total stranger I just came across one day and felt instant sympathy for. But I'll figure out a way to pass along the info, somehow. Thanks for the suggestion!

My flist does not :(

65. Wait, they made what canon? Seriously? :D

[identity profile] athousandwinds.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
The Living Armor arc (http://community.livejournal.com/scans_daily/3123563.html). Tony's abandoned armour becomes sentient, then beats him up while telling him it's his own fault for making the armour love him.

01. Never saw the movie, but reading as a kid that this could actually happen similarly scarred me... :(
02. YAY UNCONVENTIONALLY ATTRACTIVE
08. Rose! <3 I am a fairly straight female, but I'm developing a massive crush on Donna...
15. Man, I don't even like Godot or his pairings, but goddamn the fanart is hot.
23. AWWW THREEPIO <3
24. War of the Worlds musical? I NEED THIS
29. Ahahaha YES.
32. I know nothing about Naruto, but that fanart is excessively adorable.
36. I wanted to love Martha, but yeah, her thing for the Doctor annoyed the hell out of me (as did Ten's treatment of her, but I was never a big Ten fan anyway). I'm so glad to see her over him and kicking ass in the new season!
38. You have reminded me that I need to start watching this show...
41. KILT LOVE. (And I've never found Connery attractive before seeing that picture. Yum.)
55. Yes, and? :P
59. OMG BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER

THAT MOVIE WAS TERRIFYING
65. Holy shit that was Paul Bettany?! And c'mon, Tony was flirting with Jarvis! How could you not ship them? AND SENTIENT ARMOR MOLESTATION HAD BETTER SHOW UP IN THE NEXT MOVIE
68. And now I'm trying to figure out where all the gay is in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown...
70. Farscape fan only, and I'm just going to drool over that picture now...
Not!secret 1: Best secret ever. :D
Too Big 1: Especially with the taunting Joseph when he's in the well! I love the Narrator cause she's a little sadistic. :D

68. I completely know how that feels. Except they didn't exactly make out, though they do pretend they're gay together a lot. One of them also has a girlfriend. (I feel like such an awful person around her.)

[identity profile] beteio.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Also, 11. I can't stand Twilight either. All the bandwagon kids at my school are now getting into it (including my best friend! D: ) and there's nothing I can do to convince them of how much it sucks.

SIXTY THREE

I don't know that character, what fandom it's from, whatever... but THANK YOU for expressing so properly what has bothered me for years about multiple real life people.

Trauma is not a get out of jail free card. If you're so fucked up that you can't control yourself around other people then get some fucking help and deal with it like an adult. 'Life sucks get a helmet' indeed.

THANK YOU *HUGS*
