60. You know, I'm pretty darned sure that I'm going to start writing Bible fanfiction. There's so much public domain material there.

31: Worst. Ending. Ever. So bad that I warn people away from this series. You'll fall in love with them, kids. You'll adore them and want to read more. Then the ending will kill you inside. Trust me.

52: I want to go with you! Screw you, prestigious private college! Screw safe, educated, respectable learning environments. We're going to S.H.I.T. And it'll be awesome.

Given that the Everworld books did the same thing, I think K. A. Applegate just doesn't know how to end a series.

Which sucks, because that aside, I love her series so hard.

64. Honestly I'm confused about how you could be confused, especially since I think the new front page has made things much simpler. If you really need an in-depth explanation I can give it to you, though. I suggest you read all of the information provided on the site itself first (rules, faq, etc.). If it's the community and culture you're confused about, well I can direct you to this wiki (http://lurkmore.com/wiki/index.php?title=4chan) where you can look up meanings and origins of commonly used phrases and jokes, but in all honesty you won't completely understand it until you spend a lot of time hanging out there. And some things you may never understand. Don't try too hard to. You can get by just fine without playing into the jokes yourself, just as long as you don't make it obvious that you don't understand.

35: Is this Twilight? Because if so EL-OH-FUCKING-EL.

Vivian Vande Velde did this story 10 years ago, and she did it better. Not to mention the fact that the main character's name is obviously ripped off of the Pirates of the Carribbean series. Stephanie Meyer fails all around at originality.

51: Tieria is a social retard who uses the Japanese word for "boyfriend" to refer to Lockon because he thinks he's a decent human being? Okay, sure, I'll bite. Maybe Tieria doesn't think proper and appropriate forms of address are becoming of a Gundam Meister.

They obviously don't sleep together, but Tieria is only just beginning to have emotions, and I don't think he's capable of making a distinction between platonic love and romantic love, and never got the chance before it was too late. However, he was speaking about Lockon as though he loved him. Romantically. Lockon himself is another story, but Tieria's love is cannon.

[Not a shipper (of that pairing), but not blind to the obvious intent in the script.]

59: Oh, God. Radio/Lampy. I was shipping it before I knew what shipping was. I also shipped Kirby/Toaster. (And I have always thought Toaster was male, but my sister now informs me this is not the case.)

60: I have to say, this secret made me LOL and LOL.

64: You go to a board, and you look at the images. You save the ones you like, and you talk if you want to, usually when sharing images of your own that follow the topic of the thread. And you stay the fuck out of /b/ until you've lurked moar.

re: 59

[identity profile] madamotaku.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
59. Well Toaster is voiced by a woman, but the character is male. He's a male in the book, and I'm fairly positive the other appliances refer to Toaster as "him" in the movie. Personally I like Toaster and Blanky's relationship the most, but I don't ship them or anything. I'm curious what exactly BLT porn would look like. :/

*to the tune of that song in Super Mario* Bela, Bela, Bela. Bela, Bela, Bela!

16. No, I would never convince anyone to watch SPN. Quite the opposite! But I loved Bela for a number of reasons, and it probably had to do with the fact I was a n00b to SPN until a couple of months ago. I didn't get invested in Sam and Dean and their epic gay love. I zoomed through the earlier seasons, liked what I saw, but found both characters, well, lacking. I loved Dean, but his constant misogyny and coldness towards other characters that weren't Sam was off-putting. Bela I loved pretty much unconditionally, even with the "Don't be such a woman!" comment, which, hey, coming from a woman's mouth is... not cool. Bela was witty and clever, stealing things with ease, and sticking it to Dean and Sam in a very sexy way. She was manipulative, dishonest, and completely all-for-herself, and one classy broad. She was funny. And she could even have a spark of kindness, like with Gert (yes, she was stealing her money, but look at the way she drew her away to get her to sleep off the champagne), or with Sam. She was cynical and dark and twisted and yet she loved life. That expression of glee on her face when she was on top was fucking adorable. There was so, so, so much about her I liked, a whole lot of character packed into a few lines. Man, she introduced a world that could have asshole millionaires pitted against Sam and Dean in their desire for supernatural objects - James Bond villains with potential classist commentary. Do you see that? She was a great character. I know you probably meant it as humor, though, so no biggie. But, dude, I thought she was brilliant.

80. I won't keep watching, myself. Ruby-hate in the finale was too extreme - and after loving Dean from the first season I ended up laughing with delight at his death. Time to go! But that cat was so random, man. It was just THERE. Though it's pretty fucking funny to imagine Bela as some sort of secret cat freak. Does she wear a 'love me, love my cat' nightie, but hides it so far in her closet it's practically in fucking Narnia because it's just too... common? Or did she just have it because the cat was expensive and chique, while she secretly hated it because it pissed on the expensive carpet one time? Fuck, I am such a Bela fan <3

TooBig4: Too right. I really wanted Sam to say something, to stop Dean, to even try to comfort her through the phone, like he's comforted loads of fuck-ups, like the psychic kid who was (hey there!) ABUSED (again, wth, writers) in the second season. Because, hey, she's still a fucking person. She even shot Sam, and he still had some weirdass crush on her for a moment there. WHICH WAS FUCKING ADORABLE. And always confusing in light of the fact that Dean hated her more than Sam did. But, yeah. Dean's last words to her were fucking awful, and completely hypocritical, and I wished like hell she could have said "FUCK YOU, SHITHEAD" and hung up the phone but I'm projecting :3 Talking to him, telling him to basically avenge her when he was saying those things... she was a glutton for punishment, even though that whole day was a reminder of her KILLING HER PARENTS, and fuck, even if she believed then they deserved it, that sort of thing doesn't stop fucking you up. Not their deaths, not being COMPLETELY ALONE when you're just a kid, not "you wouldn't understand - no one did," not having to lie to the man you loathe the most ("they were wonderful people") just to save face and hide your weaknesses... aljaldkjasfd

OKAY I'LL SHUT UP ABOUT BELA NOW <3

34. RHPS made me realize I'm probably completely straight. But it also made me think seriously about the motto - "Don't dream it, be it" - which is a pretty kickass motto even if you're not talking about sex. Oh, and not to care too much about what gets other people off. lol SO MANY MAGICAL LEARNINGS

Re; i ees uzing this ikahn irunikally

[identity profile] goonies-nsd.livejournal.com 2008-05-19 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
16. Regarding Dean being misogynistic and cold: don't take this as a snotty tone, it opened my eyes, so I thought I'd share.

If you pay close attention, you'd notice that Dean actually DOES have respect for women, and rather likes them. He's only mysogynistic/hornball when the opportunity presents itself, such as in a bar or something similar. He did fall in love with a steady girlfriend and was dumped (twice!) in "Route 666" (which would affect anyone, let's be honest) he came to her rescue even after she distanced herself from him, he seemed to truly like Layla in "Faith" and I have no doubt he'd have stuck around if he could. In "What is and what should never be" he was living with a very smart and caring type of girl. Even in "Dream a Little Dream", his fantasy involved Lisa and Ben, not some orgy of women doing him. In "No Exit", he tells Jo very emphatically that he has trouble fighting with her alongside him because she's an amateur, not because she's female. There are a multitude of episodes that showcase his respect for women.

It's a front, and I think at his core he deeply desires a home and a family and love. Which many of my friends don't want for the character, but it's so obvious.

As for the rest of the reaction, my point is that if a GUY did that, he'd be offed. Do we honestly think Dean would have let some guy get away with shooting Sam!? He'd go into a blind rage! I keep telling people that it's not her being female that got her kicked off, it was what KEPT HER ON SO LONG. ahhaah

80. I think that's an Absynian, which is pretty expensive. It's kinda funny to me seeing the reaction from fans regarding the cat. GET OUT NOW!YOU'RE IN TOO DEEP IF YOU'RE CONCERNED ABOUT A FICTIONAL CAT! (well, real cat playing fictional cat. lolol!)
