- I thought How to Get Away With Murder and Heroes respectively were going to be more "the group pulls and eventually works together." I didn't mind the separate arcs as much because I assumed there would be more joining together. Instead it was largely everyone acting against each other, or at least being hesitant allies, which was part of what made me lost interest in both shows.

- I thought Being Human was going to be a dark comedy. Apparently it originally was envisioned as a dark comedy, so I wonder if I heard about plans for the show while it was in those stages. But it's also possible the vague description - "a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire are roommates" made me think comedy more than a dark drama that made Torchwood look light and funny.

I thought Buffy was pretty much going to be 90210 with vampires. I was very pleasantly surprised.

A lot of shows that start out goofy and fun but then turn grimdark or super serious in the second season. Looking at you, Teen Wolf and Merlin. Definitely makes me stop watching.

my best friend had to talk me into watching CSI because I'm a child of the 70s and therefore was thoroughly burned out on cop shows but I wound up really liking it what with all the science, interesting characters, clever visuals, actual use of clues, etc.

Weekend Plans!

What is everyone up to this weekend?

It is cold and raining here (weather went from 80 to mid-50s in one day) and will continue to be that way all weekend. So I'll be staying inside and trying to get as many loot boxes as I can on Overwatch. Other than that, I might watch a terrible movie or two.

How to tell if you've lost interest

I've noticed that I just don't care about all the things I used to be pretty passionate about, and I'm trying to figure out if it's depression rearing it's head or if I'm just...done with those things?
