I agree. AC was a love letter to FFVII fans, as opposed to a good movie; in terms of cinematic value, it's pretty much terrible, but if you played FFVII you "got" it. Therefore, anyone getting into the fandom through a terrible movie that made no/little sense if you weren't familiar with the game to begin with (and well, didn't make a lot of sense even if you were) automatically throws your taste into question/means it's horrible.

18. Lol OP has a differing opinion from a lot of fandom! Oh noes! I'm sorry but I can't take any secrets like this one seriously anymore. Are people seriously flabbergasted by the fact that a bunch of people might happen to like... something they don't like? It shouldn't be a huge shocker, guys. I completely agree. Personally, the gross BDSM has been done so much that I think it's boring. Whenever I come across it now I just think, "It's been done before!"

Also, I think Ten is kind of weak in some of the fics, and he is not weak. That mo fo is scary and powerful and could totally be the top.

I've noticed a lot of people have been complaining about those fics though, so I think the tide is changing in fandom.

What fandom are you in that you see any bias against het? I'm also a big fan of slash, yet I like a lot of het pairings too. Yeah, it's possible, you know. I've never seen any rejection of het, even though there's a lot of slashing going on.

How about ignoring the immature rabids? Yeah, there are vocal yaoi fangirls who bash het, but I guess you've never encountered any rabid het fans who bash not only yaoi but also any pairing they don't consider canon.
