That video! Oh, God, that video! His voice is incredible, plus the song is stuck in my head.
Thing is though, Opera singers are never meant to be shown in closeup. When he belts, his face looks redonkulous.

117. at first, I was tempted to say
Image = Image
but, after thinking more about it, I'd say
Image = Image
if only because he reminds me so much of Neville.

126. When did AJ have his shirt off?? I don't remember that!

150. I FULLY SUPPORT THIS THEORY
151. Lol, same person as 150? Dude, if you're going to submit two secrets back to back about one fandom, at least try to make them look like two different people made them.

Wow. My local library had a translated version of Fudge-a-mania that I must have read ten times as a kid. They didn't have the other books in the series, and you're making me want to find them now, more than ten years later~~

109: Just because something is really well done doesn't mean it's traced. My mother uses references all the time when she paints and the paintings come out looking exactly like the photo she too. It's because she has talent

(Anonymous) 2008-06-06 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm hoping you mean talent in the sense of sheer mechanical skill. Cause that sure doesn't sound like the other kind, sorry.

And yeah, judging by the overlay there I'm pretty sure that was traced.

125. *squints* Robotech? Isn't that image from Mospeada?

163. Niiiiiiiiice.

not!secret 1. Agreed! Granted I shouldn't speak, since I've actually written fics but have yet to post them anywhere -_-;

125 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-07 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
For the third part of Robotech, they basically took Mospeada, changed everyone's name, filed the serial numbers off, and threw in the odd reference to Admiral Hunter and Minmei. It's awesomely bad.

147. I liked Matsuka :C I think it's unfair to call him a pussy for not joining the Mu though. Going back to his own people when he had the opportunity would have been the safe and easy thing to do, but instead he chose to stay by the side of a human who more often than not offered him death threats, simply because he felt Keith's pain. That's not being a pussy, that's being brave and kind.

147 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-06 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry, I don't think fighting against your own people who are struggling just for the right to live can fall under the "brave and kind" category. And it was stupid of him to think he could live in the human world for the rest of his life anyway considering how long Mu live. Maybe if he had actively tried to make a difference when he was with Keith I would be a little less inclined to hate him, but all he did was follow along with him like some beaten down puppy, only occasionally bringing up the subject of Mu/human relations.

109. 133. n!s 4 What.

[identity profile] anibunny.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
109. D< This secret doesn't make me a happy artist. Oh my god.

133. As a small-breasted woman, this secret actually makes me feel a little better.

N!S 4: Working 8am to 5pm in Pacific. . .by the time I get home and look online ( and I mean, looking online RIGHT when I get home ) there are already 9 to 12 pages of comments. I feel your pain. I really do.

To be honest, I was so incredibly happy for one day when F!S decided to observe that day where people didn't post to Livejournal in protest. . .as the update came right at 5pm my time. X3 I think my comment was on page 3 or 4. Ah ha ha. Aaaand I got off of work early today. Which is rare. Woo.

What: *LOL* ORLY?

Edit ( Because I am still pissed off at 109. ): Okay, fucking seriously, people! Not hard. They sell BOOKS of poses JUST for you to use and reference. It's honestly fucking beautiful. May I recommend: Virtual Pose (http://www.virtualpose.net/). Comes with a book and a CD for your computer. It contains MULTIPLE pictures of nude figures in poses for you to reference.

There are multiple shots of the same pose, so you can see different angles. You study these poses, practice, and ta-da. You don't need to trace. That's the fun part to drawing. . .learning and developing talent. Not tracing it!

Also. Awesome fun tip! If you collect MULTIPLE pictures and use them as a references for one picture, it becomes super awesome and more original! And I mean like, you like how someone's arm is positioned in one shot, but how someone is sitting in another shot, and another person is holding something with the other arm. . . and ta-da. Interesting and NEW drawing done by you without tracing.

Drawing and NOT tracing is more fulfilling to. Trust me. *Smacks with ruler* If you want to trace to learn how to draw, keep it in your sketch book and not post it online to try and build a name for yourself.

Finally: Take some Life-Drawing classes. You might learn something.

Me too. I still haven't read Harry Potter, or DaVinci Code. I'm currently struggling to get through the third Twilight book (only one available on Limewire the time I looked) and it's only confirming my/our belief. NOT WORTH IT.

However, I am laughing my ASS off. These are bad, bad books.

101. Disney is an unforgettable part of [my] childhood. <3

107. Same. Still feel weird about it, though.

112. Platonic love is awesome! But buttsex works too.

115. I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE

121. I played that. Then I got bored very quickly. I can kill a blue mushroom only so many times...

127. I should do that! Also. DESUDESUDESU

131. I plan on reading Twilight because of all the negative press it's gotten on F!S. But The Da Vinci Code was actually good.

149. D'AWWW. They make me happy.

154. Actually, all homeschooled kids who aren't the totally backwards, inbred hick-type grow up to be creepy, necrophiliac morticians.

With all due respect, you're on the right track!

Kidding.

... maybe.

154's OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-06 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I've always noticed that the non-hick, non-religious type just grow up to be really boring, with almost no personality to speak of. D:

I wish there were more creepy ones. Well, actually I don't care, because I don't really need to know homeschooled people who have anything in common with me. Just people period who have things in common with me.

111. Wow, okay. :O I'm not so focused on the con thing in this secret as on your values. If it's what you believe in, then good for you for sticking to it as long as you did. But imo, even though a diploma isn't necessarily a measure of intelligence, it doesn't mean you shouldn't get one at all (which is why I'm glad you ended up doing it, even though you feel bad in the short term). While it is what you believe in, protesting for the sake of your beliefs only puts you at a disadvantage and leaves you with fewer opportunities. But hey, I mean, it's your life, so as long as it works for you and you can accomplish what you want to then I can't judge. Good luck ♥

122. Awesome! It is a well-made game, after all~

136. LOL THANK YOU, she's the worst ;_;

109: As someone who's struggled forever to try to not suck and constantly dealing with the idea that she DOES SUCK BAD, shit like that always makes me rage. That kinda pissy lol-worthy RAEG, too.

122. So did I. ...well, first I got it for the transformation sequences, as the Sailor Moon/shoujo sparkly transformation stuff always kinda tickled me. Then I got into it because it was kinda cute and fluffy ...and partially because I was praying the entire time that Auron would show up in a cameo or something.

135. You know, I think I may be the only one on the planet who ain't seen this flick yet.

122 - LOL!

147. I liked Matsuka. I think he was important to the story, and very strong in conviction. I doubt he wanted to join the Mu, especially after he felt he could be of more use to Keith, who was far more important to him. It might seem selfish in the broader context, but he did what he felt was right. I dunno. And why would he have to fight with the Mu simply because he was one? He clearly felt more strongly that he wanted to remain by Keith's side despite everything else.
Edited 2008-06-07 00:15 (UTC)

147 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-07 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
If he didn't want to fight with them fine, but to stay with someone who wants to destroy them is wrong to me. And staying with Keith doesn't make him seem strong in conviction in my eyes. He was more like some battered wife who despite being treated like shit doesn't leave her husband. I think it would have taken more strength to leave or try and change the situation than it would to stick with him.

130, 131

[identity profile] cat-empress.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
130 - Yayyy! Chaser secret! Also, is that Shaun Micallef in the top right?

131 - Yes, they might be that good, but most of the time they're not. That's not the point. Deciding not to read something just because it's popular? Honestly, how arrogant can you get? You're no better than the people who drop their so-called favourite bands as soon as they become mainstream.

Re: 130, 131

[identity profile] cat-empress.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 12:21 am (UTC)(link)

101. I'm a hardcore Disney fan, too....I think it's part of the reason I love fantasy and anime so much today.

102. Most of the dub has been good, I think! (particularly L and Matsuda).

103. Dude, Yuan! You guys have a Yuan????

107. ...Flashbacks to Tales of Symphonia fandom.

108. LOL. XD WIN!

111. Speaking as the daughter of two people who don't have college diplomas? ...You're an idiot. Getting a highschool diploma isn't selling your soul, it's giving you more options in the future. In the end it's your life, but it's not something to be so...guilty over. Really.

121. Who cares if it's bad as long as they're having fun? Geez.

127. That's awesome. XDDD WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT?

142. That one was a bit TOO dark for me...but a friend of mine loved it.

152. ...You know, even though yeah...those are some scary people...I have to admit that Krad and the Count, as scary as they are...are hot.

154. UM I was homeschooled and...while I don't like things quite as bloody or creepy as you do, I prefer fandoms with a bit of a darker side. (SEE ICON) Also, a friend of mine was also homeschooled, and she normally wears black, has a deep love for Tim Burton movies, feels that the Corpse Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas are deeply meaningful to her life, loves violent R-rated movies and creepy video games like Silent Hill...SINCE WHEN DO HOMESCHOOLERS HAVE TO BE BORING?!! Heck, both of us are even Christians! I'm a little insulted, honestly.
