It's like 45 degrees and I went to the beach. The water was warm in spots, but I hurried up and dried off.

I think it's nice to actually be able to see the new post going up without staying up until after midnight (which I do anyway but still). Evening here and it's super stormy outside - I love stormy weather but I hope no tree branches fall on my car.

My sister who is a recovering alcoholic got super drunk last night. Her boyfriend (who wasn't aware she had a problem) messaged me this morning to tell me. She is still hungover so I've not talked to her yet. I don't know what to tell her or him (other than to make sure she has water and leave her alone).

Late afternoon here and I think I'll go to bed rather early tonight. Day was slow, I totally forgot I was supposed to and try to learn how to hit people with foam swords at a LARP group meeting and I went to have tea with a couple of friends instead and it was nice.

Mixed feelings about this morning, as I forgot to set the clock for wintertime last night and woke up an hour earlier than I needed to today. Which was disappointing because I had looked forward to sleeping in, but also nice because I got a "free" extra hour.

It is freaking cold here. We're having a cold front. It was 35 last night and has been in the 40s all day. And our heater broke last night. I'm in winter pajamas under three blankets.

From context it could be anything from slutshaming, to calling someone a gender traitor, to implying that they lower themselves by having oral sex with men to... hell, just a new catch all insult, like fuckhead. Anyone got any clues?

Mom update

Mom’s going to be fine, thank goodness! She had to spend the night in the ICU because her coumadin levels were sky high, but they managed to get them back down and stop the bleeding. She’s in a regular room for tonight just for observation, and she’s coming home tomorrow. Words cannot express how relieved I am.

Also, I want to thank everyone for their kindness yesterday. It really meant a lot to me. I know I've said this before, but I've always liked how, despite how wanky and sometimes vicious this comm's in-fighting can be, there is never a shortage of compassion when it comes to the things that really matter. So thank you.
