Have you checked your local library? My library offers audiobooks and ebooks for free.

Check your local (and even just in your state if you’re in the US) libraries. Most public libraries in my state—California—offer free library cards to in-state residents, and between them my city and county libraries offer access to cloudLibrary, RBDigital, and Overdrive.

Just how hostile the Star Wars fandom has become has surprised me. It has always kind of been that way, but it used to be that I could find some happy places. These days, that's basically impossible.

I never thought I'd find a highschool AU fic I would A., want to read, and B., actually like, but recently I did. Not that I'll be seeking them out now or anything, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how well written and sweet this fic was (and rated teens and up, so no smut whatsoever, another thing I'm not used to and thought I wouldn't like).

How the American Girl fandom is suddenly rallying together to get AG to stop using the new, cheap eyes. It seems like the fandom only joins together when there's a quality issue with the dolls, but spends the rest of the time being low-key catty to everyone that's enjoying dolls wrong.

I have no idea where it came from but somehow I've found myself shipping a really embarrassing RPF ship and I feel guilty and weird about it but their interactions are so adorable and just...what the hell self?

Anyone else have a really strange ship that seemed to just come completely out of nowhere?

I lost my job on the first day of work because of unprofessional behavior. I’m 38 years old and still supported by my parents while my peers have flourishing careers and marriages. I have dreams but I always feel like I get caught in self destructive and self sabotaging cycles because deep down I’m convinced I’ll fail no matter how hard I try, because I’ve always failed before. I’m struggling to lose weight and to find a therapist, but I can’t muster the self control to eat right and exercise while I just heard back from a therapist who turned me down because she doesn’t think I’m a good fit.

I feel like it’s better for me to just die, have my family be sad for a bit then get over it, rather than be a burden and embarrassment for the rest of my life.
