I didn't even mind the fanfiction aspect, if it hadn't been considered canon by Jo. As a crack fanfic it totally worked.

EXCEPT FOR THE CEDRIC DIGGORY PART. Even for a crack fanfic, that was a stretch, never mind what we're supposed to consider an expansion of the universe. So I am with you on that.

Lol, OP, last night I texted a friend "I want a 2012 fic where they all completely implausibly live in a tower together and Thor is always calling people silly names and eating snacks and Tony gives everyone their own floor to live on (aLways) and Steve is excited about iPads and Clint and Natasha are always getting into shenanigans and Bruce has a Lab and Loki pops in and out whenever." It was a weird and at times tiresome era but it's got its charms!

I have so many issues with the fashion industry. I get that it is an art form and that designers are artists. But at the same time, they are designing clothes for actual people to wear. And yet so often fashion is just treated like art and like the person who wears them is merely the canvas the designer uses to display their art.

It comes out a lot in how designers so often design for only a small range of sizes. And how they complain if having to design for women who aren't model size. But it comes out in a lot of other ways too. And it isn't just about size discrimination. And I think a lot of commentary on sizism in fashion misses the bigger picture of treating women's bodies as canvases and of designers forgetting they are designing for actual people.

On the one hand, I think the way things are always sequels and prequels and universes now shows a lack of creativity and that the film industry in general is lesser for it. But on the other hand, when it comes to what I choose to watch, I like my favorite universes and will return their time and time again and only sometimes am willing to try something new.

I hate how fandom's become so commercialized. Even collaborate stuff like zines are for profit now and everyone's got a patreon or ko-fi. I get that the economy sucks and it's a symptom of a greater problem, but man.

I've had multiple people sincerely believe I'm fucking with them when I tell them the events of that play. Like, multiple people have been compelled to google it themselves because they don't consider my summary plausible. In fairness, I also don't consider my summary plausible.

You know, I don't like woobification, but if that's what people want, I think I'm coming around to the idea that people should be able to do things how they want even if it seems really strange to me. But when I ship enemy/hero ships (I don't ship Kylo/Rey much at all), a large part of the fun for me is actually making it work. If the villain is woobified, to me that removes a lot of the fun.
