After almost two decades, fandom as I know it feels like it has morphed from being a space dominated by women to being a space dominated by afab queer people. I resent it a little.

I’m used to shipping ships that aren’t canon & I’m not asking for all my ships to be canon...........but it’s so satisfying when I ship the canon ship and can cheer as these two characters who are obviously endgame get together and stay together. I’d almost forgotten how this feels haha.

I swear I’m not this petty all the time, but nothing brings out my inner bitch like fans of an asshole/villain character whining that an adaptation/episode/book/sequel ruined their fave by showing him being not a deeply tragic antihero or brooding sexy byronic hero, but a villainous asshole, or worse, an object of ridicule. Sometimes I even like the character they’re defending... except the way they see him (there are a few that’re ‘her,’ but not many) he has no flaws. Way to make villains boring, guys!

There are bits I loved, but part of me wishes someone other than Neil Gaiman had written the Good Omens script, or at least that he’d had a script doctor or three.

Watching the majority of people in this fandom squee over A/B and how hot B is is making me not only dislike A/B as a ship but hate B.

I hate how petty I am but what can I do, I don’t ship A/B.

I was determined to like the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie because I got sick of hearing people whine about how bad it was. Then I saw it and I thought it was so damn bad. I guess I should have been a little more charitable.

Sandra Oh’s comments about Killing Eve - saying the fans were “making the relationship something it’s not” - honestly devastated me. I know she’s not a writer, but it is disappointing that she would try and distance her character from queerness in such a blatantly homoerotic show, especially when most of the marketing focuses on the will-they-won’t-they of Villanelle and Eve.

I wish it was possible to stop AO3 from logging you as a hit until idk 30 seconds or a paragraph.

I feel a little guilty when I end up hitting the backbutton soon after trying to read something but it raises the hitcount since I've seen some authors talking about their hits versus kudos/comments.

This is a nitpicky one but... Why is it that that Wanda's hair is light red/almost strawberry blonde in Infinity War and back to dark hair in Endgame? I mean couldn't the Russos at least remembered that bit of continuity?

I'm a lesbian. I loved FF7 and I'm very excited for FF7R.

I do not in any way believe that Aerith nor Tifa are lesbians, especially not for each other, and I feel insanely alienated by the "they're girlfriends and if you disagree you're literally Hitler." It feels so much like the old "pair the girls and ignore them so I can slash the guy they're in love with" thing that fandoms used to do (because of course it's to make way for either Sephiroth/Cloud or Zack/Cloud), and I hate that so much I don't have proper words for it.

i'm not particularly bothered by fanfic authors turning their fanfic into original fic as long as it's thoroughly edited and original enough to stand on it's own as a novel.

I adore Luke and really like Mark Hamill, but I'm starting to find his twitter a bit annoying? I feel really bad about it, because I know he's just being nice buuuuut him replying to those "I will watch SW with my nephews if you can say hi to them"/"I know he'll never see my tweet but getting a "May the Force be with you" from Mark Hamill would make my life"/"Hi, it's my birthday, can I get..." etc makes me roll my eyes now. It seems like he's choosing the neediest tweets of them all. :/

I know that one particular canon 'verse has both Bucky Barnes *and* Steve Rogers as orphans, but for the life of me, I can't find anything *concrete* about it. All i've found is 'Bucky is an orphan and he meets Steve in an alley in a fight....'

Argh. Anyone have any more info or a good link?
