Morning all! How’s that weather going? I’ve got rain wind more rain and proper grass for the first time in 7 months!

It just started storming, and I'm excited because it was unbearably hot out today. Like I wanted to cry whenever I was outside. Hopefully this will cool things off a little. (Plus, yay night-storm!)

Sunny, yet pwarm (mid 80s right now) and expected to be even hotter as the week goes on. We've already got an excessive heat watch in place starting Wednesday and lasting through Friday. Yay :/.

A hundred degrees and getting hotter. I put up my blackout curtains today, so it’s not that bad inside, but I swear I can feel my skin sizzle when I step outside.

Muggy. We got cloud cover today so it wasn't OH GOD I WANT TO DIE and muggy. It was just muggy.

I'll take it! :D

We've been hot and muggy and gross for a bit, and now suddenly last night/today it was cool and rainy and windy and lovely. Even had the air off and the windows open for a while! I'll take it.

It's 110°F right now and pretty dry for all that the other parts of the state are actually getting rain. 114°F tomorrow.

It almost hit 100 today, and I'm sure it will soon. It's kind of a pain because I ride my bike to work but I'm not usually out in the really hottest part. (I don't drive, so my only other option is Lyft which gets expensive.) But that's a minor complaint. I'm used to it being really hot here.

Garbage. Hot, muggy, overcast... I want it to be winter.

I remember liking Zen Cho’s Sorcerer to the Crown. (I haven’t read her second book yet.)

A lot of Diskworld comes to mind.

It's kidlit, but it does have minimal angst and death, and isn't YA romance! It's a bit "dark", but that's because it's literally in a cave city and doesn't play shy with fantasy socio-politics, for all that it's kidlit, but it's definitely not dark.

A Face Like Glass, by Frances Hardinge

Hrmmmmm..... There's some angst but it fits the story? It's not angst-in-a-can to make you sad?

C J Cherryh's 'Fortress' series. Very high fantasy with lots of magic (of various kinds) *and* a couple of absolutely awesome women characters.

Also 'Paladin', for high fantasy modeled after the Tang Dynasty of China. Also appropriate angst for the story, not crazy grim-dark stuff.

And, finally, the 'Rusalka' series, based on Russian folklore, set in a fantasy Russia.

Sent a Facebook friend request to all of the admins in a giant group I'm active in. I only did it as cover for friend requesting the hot one.

It's not stalking if my ex's facebook is public, right?

Sometimes I take a scroll down memory lane. He's completely and hilariously horrible. He hates women and anyone who isn't proud of their white heritage. He loves Trump. We're not even American.

I used to feel bad because he cried when I broke up with him and initially I just wanted to know if he was okay. Now I lurk for funsies.

hung out and watched Hugh Laurie getting filmed, he didn't even know I was there. That's not very stalkery though, especially since I left when the security guy asked me to without making a fuss.
