Gee, I didn't realize pointing out canon inconsistencies or people being OOC was considered "nitpicky."

Receiving comments that are less-than-glowing praise is a risk you take when you post something publicly. If someone pointing out an inconsistency is enough to make you cry, try to find someplace where no one cares about standards. Otherwise, maybe you should keep your stuff to yourself.

Um, literally, WTF? Yeast shows up as a food substitute in Caves of Steel, yes, but tends to not be mentioned much in the later robot novels.

I mostly agree? The exception is usually times where the order just doesn't actually matter at all, or where there's some books at the beginning that just aren't really that good and can be skipped. But if order matters at all, chronological is always the way to go.

I read the first Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book and thought it was uproariously funny.

I tried to read the rest, but only made it through the second one, and found it a bit of a slog. Couldn't get more than a few pages into the third. My friends kept talking abut how hilarious they all were and I had to lie about being too busy to read the rest of them right then.

What has always confused me is that the second and third books had the exact same humor and there was no reason they should be less funny, but it was like every single joke fell completely flat. I don't get it. I still think the first book is funny, but it was like the spark completely vanished after that. I've never met anyone who felt this way and I still don't know why when the sense of humor didn't change and I have laughed and laughed at other media with the same style of humor.

I'm currently watching Wonderfalls for the first time.
These two have some weird non-sibling chemistry in my opinion. I was glad when they were both paired off with other characters.

Side note: I really enjoy the show, but some jokes/plotlines didn't age too well. It doesn't bother me much, but some people will probably not be happy about it.
