While it's true that it does try to promote equality and has socialist ideal, it also has a militaristic bent and an imperialistic streak (even when the narrative sometimes says it's wrong - characters are alternately shamed or lauded for it).

I definitely related to Faramir as a kid because I also felt like an unfavorite... but I kind of "get" this secret.

Maybe because the unfavorite character in the story sometimes ends up being the favorite among readers/viewers, so the favorite in the story becomes the unfavorite in the fandom?

Nah, "loyal, kind and likes friends" is a "good people" trait, not a Hufflepuff one specifically. Now, valuing good sportsmanship over winning at all costs and being the consummate team player -- those are Hufflepuff hallmarks, and some of the newer Doctors weren't so hot with those ones.

Seriously, Nine's Gryffindor and sometimes Gryffindumb about it, and Ten's Slytherin who wants to think he's a Gryffindor.

Yay, a Kylux secret!!! (Have u seen the new Hux comic, OP? It's out today and I've already seen some of it on Tumblr, looks good!)

TBH I tend to prefer the opposite, but sub!Kylo has a definite appeal. I can certainly see Kylo craving structure and discipline (and Hux being duty-bound, wink wink, to provide whatever his Supreme Leader requires).

10 is 100000000% a Gryffindor. Absolutely 100%. Maybe Hufflepuff as a fallback I guess.

11 is probably Huff but maybe Ravenclaw. 13 is Huff. 12 and 9 IDK they're harder to sort.
