Anyone else watch the first season of Beforeigners? I'm dying over here!

+Awesome world-building
+Poking fun of PC-ness in an actually funny way
+Wonderfully charismatic female lead
+Interesting and well-acted side-characters
+Fantastic accents

- Way too short of a season. And I don't just mean in a "I WANT MORE NOW kind of way. Just when the over-arching plot got a bit more twisty, it ended.

-Ran out of money to pay music royalties at the end.

-The time frame is a bit unrealistic. Would have made more sense to place the story fifteen-twenty years after the events of the opening. No way society changes that quickly.

I really want to watch it but it looks like I'd have to subscribe to HBO and I don't really have the money for that right now.

OOoo, have fun. I had to take my car in to the shop. My oil spill cap had come loose and was dragging. Ended up being there for three hours. Had my tires balanced as well. Now I'm home and about to take a nap.

My father and his girlfriend are passing by and staying the night. She's super cranky and I really want to ask him if she's always so nasty with him. Every word out of her mouth is a complaint and she's can't even ask him to turn up the sound of the TV without criticising him. If she'd been doing that at work, it'd be a harassment issue for sure, but how to explain to a sixtysomething man that her behaviour to him qualifies as abusive.

Went to have my wisdom teeth removed and now I'm sitting on the bed doing nothing and not talking so writting is the only way I can communicate. You're my only friends now, F!S.

Working on this dang zebra and listening to a podcast.

What do yall think of these colors? Going to be striped that light blue and black the whole way. My nephew wanted a blue/black/green zebra.

Lucky. I'm going to the new Tarantino movie, just hope I can relax and enjoy it, I just got the biggest fucking electric bill of my life. PG&E fucked over Calif with the fires last year and guess who they're passing that on to? I'm cutting it VERY close and just hope I don't get an overdraft. Eurgh.

Came back from the laundromat with clean clothes! I ate dinner and finished watching The Spy on Netflix. Now I'm watching The Red Sea Diving Resort and I hope to read a bit more of Paperbacks From Hell later.

Made myself chocolate chip walnut blueberry pancakes with whipped cream.

Cleaned the turtle tank.

Weeded, mowed the lawn, did some landscaping work in a flowerbed to try to improve drainage at the back of the house.

Had a contractor come look at some stuff I need fixed.

Bought sunglasses.

Did a bunch of laundry.

Hung some art that's been sitting around since I moved a year ago.

It's been a while since we had one of these

I love the Dark Crystal but all of the lead female gelflings look like my partner's ex (very skinny, petite, long flowing blonde hair) and it kinda makes me hate them a little. Especially Deet and Brea.

jon/tormund is a ship that I never knew I needed and I love the fanfics that the came after the GOT finale

I prefer fics that deal with kakyoin being jotaro biggest "what if" than the "kakyoin lives AUs"

I don't know how to put this into words precisely. I can't stand slapped on diversity crap.

For me that would be things like reboot racial swaps, which are a total and utter cop out.

On the other hand, things like B99 where excellent characters are used to tell relevant and sometimes poignant stories about the world today - e.g. that episode where Terry gets arrested by a cop in his own neighbourhood) = totally fine.

Can we please have some GOOD and NEW stories and GOOD and NEW characters and make those diverse. FFS.
