Vegan brunch with my sister for her birthday! in a very nice, cosy place. It was incredibly tasty and much more filling than anticipated, and my sister's doing really well and I'm all happy for her.

I went to a convention and it was okay. I didn't win anything at the cosplay competition, I crushed the opposition in the quiz show, and I bought a few things at stalls and at the auction.
Oh, and I got to play 'Yoshi's Woolly World', 'Super Mario Odyssey', and 'Duck Hunt'. That was interesting.

Played the new SIF All Stars game (it's loads of fun), cleaned, and napped a bunch. Now I'm coming down with a cold and I'm salty af that I'm going to be sick to start the week.

Went to my Grandpa's barbershop show, then to my parents for dinner. It's my Grandpa's 88th birthday today and I despise his other kids and my cousins for not taking two hours of their goddamn day to come and support the thing he loves. [[RAAAAGE]]

Accompanied my partner to hospital for abscess surgery. I had to have a tooth pulled earlier in the week which is healing slow so we're both kind of feeling sorry for ourselves. On the plus side we've both gotten to slob out at home together which we rarely get the chance to do.

Watched some tv. Had a splitting headache for most of it, though, so I slept quite a bit. Right now I'm laying in my dark room with an ice pack on my head. deciding between the Stumptown and Bluff City Law premiers to watch before I go to sleep.

Went camping, had a nice fire, looked at the stars~
Other than that, I caught up on Battle of the Blades! So happy it's back again!

Made an 18-hour round-trip drive, and in between I mowed the lawn, did a bunch of laundry, ran errands, did some cleaning, and re-packed. I also turned on my furnace to check that it works since it's starting to get chilly. Next time I go home I ought to drain the hose and shut off the outdoor spigots.

The real problem with the notorious epilogue, I think, is not the (admittedly terrible) names - it's that JK spent 7 books showing us that the wizarding world was a mess, hidebound and insular and selfish, and the epilogue shows us that the protagonists have grown up and... Done nothing at all to change that.
Malfoys and Weasleys still hate each other, Harry's apparently never told his kids about Slytherin war heroes, and Ron's out giving muggles brain damage and isn't that jolly?

There's going to be another Voldemort or Grindelwald in 40-50 years, and everyone's going to gasp and cry 'How could this happen?' like it's some great mystery.

Laptop Battery Treatment

People of F!S, do you leave your laptops plugged in all the time? Or do you ascribe to the notion that doing that will kill your battery faster? Do you try to keep your laptop in that mid-range between low and fully charged, like some techies recommend? Please tell me about how you treat your laptop battery. I have a new laptop that cost twice what my previous ones did, and I'd like to treat it right, if I can.
