107. You know what, maybe they zealously support gay rights because they don't see anything wrong with being gay and don't see why gays shouldn't be able to get married, maybe they are not quite straight themselves, and you know what maybe they support it because it is the right thing to do.

I am not a slasher, but as a lesbian I am not going to look down on anyone who wants to support equal rights, no matter how they came to it. We need all the support we can get.

I certainly find that position more reasonable then subsection of slash that is homophobic and against gay rights. Now those people I have no tolerance for at all.

As a lesbian who mainly ships het and femslash, I am totally with you, although not that pairing since I am not in that fandom, every now and then a m/m pairing catches my eye and I love it (I OTP the hell out of a couple in one of my friends NaNo projects), so there is definitely more of you out there, not to mention that there are ton of lesbians who only write and read slash.

129. Look, I don't want Jack/Liz be canon romantically either, since they are my platonic OTP, but Liz deserves so much better then Dennis, he is a complete moron and she doesn't and can't respect him, not what I would look for in a pairing.

If it makes you feel better, I was only thinking of the small subset of Zutarians who had managed to convince themselves that everyone else was a crazy sheeple and they knew the secret truth that Zuko and Katara were going to hook up.

The fact that I know plenty of decent Zutarians is why I feel kind of bad about thinking that way, and why it's a secret.

107. I, on the other hand, look down on slashers who are against gay marriage. It makes their fic/art/fangirling look like nothing more than objectification and exploitation. I tend to look down on anyone who opposes gay rights, actually, but I see slashers who take that stance as blatant hypocrites.

(I'm generally pretty easygoing about differences in beliefs and politics, but not in this case. Zealous? YES)
