I fell in love with Sasaki watching Zettai Kareshi (omg cutest show EVER). I saw the post for Giragira over at jdramas, and, having looked up the show's info at Drama Wiki, I have to say that it did look completely stupid. (Although I have to admit there is a certain charm to the thought of being wooed by him. XD)

173. You know what you're missing here?
A) There are *so few* canonically gay characters on TV/films, and even fewer canon gay pairings, that if you want to write fics about gay pairings, you have to rely on subtext.
B) The very existence of subtext.
C) If a character has never had a love interest of either gender, and hasn't identified neither straight nor gay, is he/she straight? NO HE/SHE ISN'T!
D) And yes finding out you're gay, is a lot more plausible than finding out you're straight. Because the world at large assumes you're straight if you don't say otherwise. So to being gay is something a person has to acknowledge and realise about themselves. Being straight doesn't need to be reflected on.

I have to strongly disagree with this. Psychological studies have shown that when a person's fantasy material becomes more outrageous, they can develop more sexual problems than people with tame fantasies. For instance, they may get off on rape material at first and let's say it's the least brutal form of rape. Eventually, that isn't enough for them and they need a stronger "high," thus seeking out harsher rape fantasies in order to get off. In the end, with many cases it's hard to ever find sexual pleasure from normal things anymore because only hardcore and extreme situations get the person off.

IMO, the more "out there" your fantasy is, the less healthy it is for you and your sexual life as well as your emotional and sexual well-being.

If only brutal rape or forcible incest, etc. gets a person off, I think consulting a psychologist is a good thing to do. Not because they're crazy, but because something IS wrong with your mental well-being if you can't get pleasure from normal things anymore.

Of course, this doesn't apply to people who have rape/incest/etc. fantasies and still have a pleasurable and normal sex life outside of those fantasies. Those who develop addictions, though, probably should seek help for why only those things trigger the pleasure responses in the brain.

101 - Agreed. Would love to just go explore places sometimes. Pretty much why I like games where you're not forced to follow a strict plot or chain of events all the time. But those bits you can see but not get to? (*remembers the castle on one of the Mario Kart N64 tracks*) Would love more freedom, just because it'd be fun.
