117. so my first thought when seeing this was 'dont bother its not what everyone makes it out to be' speaking as an irish american who has lived and worked in ireland.

174: I wonder what I am, then? I'm a woman, slash isn't my cuppa, primarily I'm a gen fan, and I'm much, much more likely to be arguing "who can beat up whom" than "whom is making out with whom." I just find Death Star vs. Angel Arm cannon a lot more fun than soap opera. I am quite comfortable with this and still consider myself female and proud of it, thank you very much. If you don't like the overabundance in slash in fandom - you're just hanging out in the wrong places. If I can find niches where gen is appreciated, you can, too! Stop sterotyping and wholesale blaming - makes you look bad.
