Question for Americans

Sorry if this is a really dumb question. Is going for a crazy weekend in Vegas something you all have to be 21+ for. Or could you feasibly go and do something fun if you were like 16?

You have to be 21 to gamble and drink, and also, Vegas is generally not super cheap so people who go are usually at least in their 20s and employed.

You could probably find something fun to do if you were under 21, but it would be much harder and the city isn't really designed for it. There is stuff that's supposed to be for like, families and stuff but IMO Vegas is really only worth it if you want to drink, go clubbing and gamble.

I mean, there's Circus Circus that a 16 year old could go to but that's pretty much it and Circus Circus sucks. Lmfao. They won't even let anyone under 18 walk around most of the buildings in Vegas due to the slot machines, never mind the booze issue of 21 and over.

One of my friends went to Vegas when she was seventeen. It was a family vacation with her mom and dad, but there wasn't much for her to do. She went swimming in the hotel pool, ate at the buffet, and then just spent the rest of her time in the hotel room.

Ehhhh, there are things you could do such as going to shows, people watching on the Strip, etc. But in most cases since casinos serve alcohol, you can't even go inside unless you're 21+. There's a limit to how "crazy" your weekend is going to be.

You do have to be over 21 to even go into the casinos, and they are pretty strict about enforcing that.
The shows are great, pretty much any kind of entertainment you're into can be found there.
One warning though, EVERYTHING there is a lot more expensive than it used to be.

I used to have family in Vegas, so I went there in 90's and early 00's and there was stuff to do other than gamble. And unless everyone changed the rules since I've been there, yes, people under 21 can go into the casinos. They just can't wander around alone or gamble or anything. They can walk through it with an adult though and look at stuff on their way to where they're going inside it.

There's stuff to do inside the casinos other than gamble, believe it or not. It's been a while since I've been there so I don't remember a lot, but there were a lot of restaurants in each one and each one had a game room for the kids, where you could buy tokens, win tickets and exchange them for cheap prizes. There was also the Adventuredome at Circus Circus. Someone elsewhere in this thread said it sucked, but I dunno. I had fun there.

There's also other stuff to do that doesn't involve casinos. When we were there, my family did a lot of stuff in nature. My aunt was an old hippie, so we did a lot of stuff in the desert.

We went on a family vacation there when I was 15 and my brother was 11. The hotels were entertaining in themselves if you are a mall walking/museum wandering kind of person. The new ones are lavish and intricately themed with fountains and sculptures, marble floors, huge columns, vaulted ceilings, gardens, live animals, live bands, interactive walls, multiple cafes and showrooms in every one. Lots to look at. The historic strip on Fremont Street has old Hollywood, Rat Pack and Elvis memorabilia. For free we walked past a dragon-moat fight at Excalibur, saw Egyptian relic display at the Luxor, water and light show at the Bellagio, aquariums at Mandalay Bay. We paid to see a concert at the MGM Grand, saw one 4D movie and another with tilting seats. Toured an M&M museum and ate candy til we were sick. Parents saw a comedy show. Bro rode the roller coaster on top of the Stratosphere. Ate a ton - everywhere you go has a steakhouse or sushi place or buffet. There’s also a couple pools and arcades at every hotel. You definitely don’t have to be an adult, but I think you should have money to blow.

if you're looking for a realistic place for your american teens to go party, vegas is not the place. better to look for places where people go for giant spring break parties like Cancun. usually the people there are college age but i'm sure there's plenty of teens who sneak in and tons of underage drinking going on. no one around checking IDs either.

There was an Attack on Titan fic where the characters/main ship kept getting reincarnated in different periods of history and getting all their memories back when they finally ran into each other. It looked like it was getting closer to revealing why it was happening but the author had stopped updating.
