Honestly, I agree with you. I'm not writing a book just so I can have a fandom; I'm writing it because I really like to write. But I don't care if I become massively famous. All I care about is whether or not my work inspires the kind of camaraderie and FUN that comes with a high-quality fandom (that has a relatively low troll/entitlement whore/smacktard ratio).

But wait, I think I hear the elitist/you're not a real author (or whatever)/I'll bet your work is utter shit and full of cliché/you're doing it for the wrong reasons/you're so full of yourself/what makes you think you'll ever get published fuckwit train rolling into the station...and that's why I'm annonymous.

117. I used to have the exact same problem, only it was 9-10 years ago. I was triggered by anything end of the world-y, including fiction and sensationalist news reports. I got help and I can tell you it gets so much better. Now I dismiss Heroes because it's boring instead of terrifying. :) Wishing you the best.
