123: English is my second language and I've got plenty of fandom friends who are native speakers of English, so I don't think you need to be afraid. There are plenty of native English speakers whose English is worse than those who speak English as a second or third language.

103-So unless you're a constant warrior against racism every day, you should be shamed into not speaking up against something you think is racist? There's probably plenty of people who don't think about racism until it effects something or someone they care about. Isn't any reason to start thinking about it a good one? I don't think that has to make you self-righteous. It certainly could, but that depends on the person. It's a good thing when the people who don't care about racism are against it too.
