Hunny's technically, like, the oldest of the whole bunch of them. He just LOOKS about 8 years old. So really, it's not shota. But whatever.

First I call TROLL.

Then I laugh my ass off at your presumptions and bloated ego, should this actually be a serious secret.

And lastly I tell you that the only thing I read and write is dead-serious drama/character study/missing scenes/long-ass dramatic AU non-romance self-indulgent pretentious shit. Why? Because fanfic is ALL about the self-indulgence, and for me, that takes the form of something OTHER than sex, shipping and crack. I’m more meta-oriented usually, and when I do write fanfic it’s only ever as an extension of the discussions and analyses I enjoy. The notes about the writing process or my motivations/intentions in a certain piece are there because THAT’S WHAT I LIKE MOST ABOUT IT, and because, you know, my circle of friends likes the stame thing?

I will leave your opinions on intelligence, talent and their relationship to fanfic alone, because discussing that would include a mallet. Still, good trolling. Look at that response!

125

Yeah, fuck you too buddy. God forbid anyone who doesn’t live up to your standards has fun with something you enjoy too, right? Damn, this is starting to annoy me.

[identity profile] relmneiko.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
110. Ng oh yes. Not a huge Reborn fan... (though Squalo, I am so very there, unf) but damn there's something about seeing a hardass manly dude pushed down to his knees to beg for it. And I love nothing more than seeing my favourite dude getting topped hardcore icon so very relevant, fandom.

114. You could secretly be my reviewer except I don't write anything that long. Uh. Um. >_>;; I worry about this.

I like shipping as much as the next fangirl, but I don't think fic needs to be void of meaning, wtf is with that. Though I don't think a meta on a fic should outstrip a fic... I mean, the writing should speak for itself, right? You shouldn't need to explain all the meaning in an author's note - that just kills it.

I applaud any writer who puts the same kind of effort into a fic as they would a novel. Fandom needs more of that stuff, IMO.

I'm also of the opinion that you can write whatever genre of fic for whatever genre of canon. I mean, look at fairy tales - you can get gruesome stories and censor them into Disney and then take the Disney and write a Robin McKinley novel out of it. Or whatever. That kind of stretching and adaptation goes on all the time. I mean, you could easily write a Hello Kitty darkfic and come out with something like Cat Soup.

You can take out more than what's put in, you know. Add depth where there was none, expand or twist things that weren't explored...

125- Oh gosh, me too.

154- I'd dig it. But that's probably because I love NPH way too much. xD

Late to the party(again)

[identity profile] andromeda-2.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
110:I...I have so hard to picture Uke!Xanxus. The only pairing where I could picture him as being the bottom, would be Lussuria. I can't picture Lussuria not topping everyone. That's just my opinion, though.

117:The world doesn't end though in the first season finale, so...nothing to worry about?

119:Ah, Naruto. I used to be a big fan...until the series only seemed to be about Sasuke. The only saving grace so far was Killer Bee. God, I love Killer Bee. I'm not even excited about the upcoming Naruto/Pein battle :(

120:Am I the only one who thinks his body looks...weird? The lower part, at least.

123:Which fandoms are you in? Not sure if you will read this, since it's so late, and I don't speak a iota of finnish, swedish is my first language, but if we have similar interests, I'd like to fangirl with you :)

126:Unrelated to the secret, but damn, that picture just reminds of when Orihime actually DID things in the manga, and wouldn't just stand around looking helpless. I miss that Orihime :(

137:...Why do I feel like I recognize that face? Anyone who can tell me where it's from?

141:It always creeps me out a little that my friend(Who is a Twi-fan, LUCKILY she's no nuttymadam)looks a little like nuttymadam(Although my friend is cuter :P).

155:I love Cracked :D I read almost every article they publish there(mostly the numbered lists articles). I don't take their articles as gospel, but they're usually very good and funny.

159:He doesn't look very happy to be kissed XD

163:I like different genres. I prefer shonen, but it's not like it's the only thing I read. I like JRPGS, but it's not the only game genre I like. It's not such a big deal, methinks.

174:Wow, Ace of Base secret! That's the last thing I thought I'd see here :O

114) Here's hoping that the people you can't stand don't give a shit what you think. Not because of you, because of them. They should write this stuff because they want to, not because they think others want them too. And what's wrong with a little fantasizing about being a famous writer online? People role-play all kinds of crap. As long as it doesn't go too far. And, ahem, I, uh, speak as one who went too far...

117) I have a disaster-movie fetish and an A-bomb complex ever since visiting Hiroshima. I totally feel for you. Hugs. Gentle ones.

123) Hell, yes.

157) OMG I'm so with you. It's the only Fire Emblem game I've played and I loved loved loved it. The shippy potential is so wonderful. I want to ship Artur with everyone. Nothing like defrocking an uptight priest <3

110. You know, I really don't care about or for seme and uke roles ... but I can't really see Xanxus bottoming. Maybe if he got drunk. Mostly I see the potential 'topper' getting set on fire. But if you haven't seen it already, [livejournal.com profile] pollinia has a Squalo/Xanxus fic called (I think) "The Hips of Wolves".

114. But what about all those secrets where people complain about how they despise eveyone else for only writing porn, where is the genfic, damn you all?

124. Oh Jesus I am all for it. My childhood hurts right now.

126. *latent love for Orihime/Tatsuki strikes back!* Oh, how I wish they could share panel space again.

123. FINLAND REPRESENT! :) Don't worry about it. There's people from all over the world in fandoms, not everyone's got english as first or even second language.

And personally, I'm kinda bummed about being so shit at swedish even though I'm in Uni and should really be able to handle it by now. I just know finnish and english and a bit of french. Sorry everyone!

160. I don't think you are asexual, secret poster, but I agree 100% that the fact your friend thinks they can change you with smut from a book you hate is ridiculous.

178. O.o Mello/House.. wow, that's err, out there. xD

[identity profile] tsukinofaerii.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
107. Taylor Swift is hot (I don't think she's too skinny though). The song is <3. The video is also <3. And I have a gigantic thing for that style of clothing. Cravats, yum.

That is all.

113. This isn't a secret. It's bragging. :P Silly OP.

114. You mean people don't actually read for the story? Gosh! I feel enlightened now!

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why the writing elitists have come out from under their rocks?

This secret is so full of fail, I don't even know where to begin except at the incoherence. You might want to work on your own writing skills before complaining about others, yes? You're all over the place here. The only link is "OMG RAGE" and fanfic.

First Paragraph (Concerning the sharing of authorial information): You don't like it when people care about their writing and want to share that. It's a hobby, just like any other. When we (the hobbyists) find someone who is also interested in the same thing, we tend to want to share. Contrary to your statement, many people are interested, and perfectly willing to respond in kind. You are not obliged to read any of this.

Second Paragraph (On the content and length of fanfiction): Again at odds with your statement is that the existence of fanfic besides the afore-mentioned porn, romance and crack suggests (indeed, nearly requires) the existence of readers. Those who write outside of those genres are frequently the same who read. Having established the existence of a group of readers, it's not unlikely that there exist those who are readers only, and not authors.

I'm entirely at a loss as to why length matters in this instance. As we all well know: it's not the size that counts, it's how you use it.

Third Paragraph (First paragraph, redux): As already stated, if no one cared, no one would write it. Please feel free to move on to the content which interests you. People are occasionally interested in the writing process of others. The "20,000 word bio" comment is clearly an exaggeration intended to draw support. If not, please provide an instance where I can witness this unicorn as well.

Closing line (Example of hypocrisy): If "no one likes" such things as long dramatic stories which contain no porn as you claim, I must assume that either you do not as well, or you do not exist. why are you reading them and encouraging the authors in their creation?

118. It bothers me as well. I can understand locking it (as long as you don't crosspost, because that's like inviting people over for a party and then turning off the lights and going to bed), but locking it after a few days is really silly. It's the equivalent of only leaving your car door open with the keys in for the first month after buying the car.

120. You guys need to talk. Getting off to porn but not having sex with someone you're in love and plan forever with is a bad sign. Keeping sexual secrets from them is an even worse sign (there's valid reasons for a lull in intimacy, after all).

121. America is a top in the stereotyped, hyper-masculine, "ohnoes bottoming means I'm weak!" stupid sort of way. And he never gets any at all because he's too pushy for the top. (shrugs) My $0.02

127. Granny rocks, but I'm glad I don't have to be her. The world needs people like her though. :\

128. When I see people being shady in the manga section (or the sex section) I wonder about that too sometimes, but people are people. (shrug)

132. I love that pic. XD

160. That's a bad friend. Seriously. Smack some sense into her.

176. ... what did they do to Care Bears? D:

[identity profile] the-summoning-d.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
125: Oh god, seconded so very very hard.
137: ...how? XD
143: That would be the most awesome thing ever *prays for canon*
151: Write it write it write it write it write it write it write it write it!

177

(Anonymous) 2009-01-09 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I ship it too, but (at least to me) it's not incest at all. I think its really just fate :)

163

(Anonymous) 2009-01-09 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
So you like variety... Do you want a cookie? A gold star?

[identity profile] joshuaorrizonte.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
103. It... doesn't actually work that way? Anything that brings social injustices to light is a GOOD thing. Anything that gets people to pay attention to them is a GOOD thing. At least, in my opinion, of course. That's what I tend to think, though.

114. Then don't read them? Seriously, why do you CARE if someone else writes fanfiction? Speaking as a fanfic writer, I don't do it because people are interested. I do it because I WANT to. I post it because people might be interested. If no one's interested, oh well! It's written, out of my head, there in case someone IS interested, and those who aren't have scrolled on by.

And, here's the sucky part for you: telling them that you like it and to write more means that you're one of those people who are interested. If you hate this so much, STOP ENCOURAGING IT.

123. ABSOLUTELY. In fact, I'll put my money where my mouth is and say that if you want, go ahead and friend me. I'll friend back.

155. YES. I'mma have to start reading Cracked now. I was bullied as well; I got the, "They're just jealous" write-off excuse, personally. I'm willing to bet, "They're abused at home" is just as helpful as, "They're just jealous" was for me: not at all. During your early school years, you don't CARE why they're bullying you. It hurts and you want them to STOP. Trying to get the person being bullied to be sympathetic towards the bully is, imo, a GREAT way to teach kids how to NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS. "I have a bad homelife so it's okay for me to be a dick! :D" Nope.

175. That would be my one and only goal for getting any of my original work published. XD
ext_6866: (Blah blah blah blah blah)

155

[identity profile] sistermagpie.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
And also "they're abused at home" could backfire. I mean, you're possibly telling a young kid who's being bullied some really sensitive information and acting like it's supposed to make them act maturely and kindly to the bully. As opposed to maybe use that as a weapon back at them (i.e., no wonder your father beats you--you're horrible and you deserve it).

I can understand talking to the victim if it would help them to understand that the bully has problems--iow, that it's not their fault they're being bullied, that maybe the bully at least unhappy as well as mean. But it's really just about stopping the bullying.
