After Twilight, I got really sick of seeing vampires in pretty much everything. Now that it’s been about ten years, I’m cool with vampire stuff again.

I love vampires when done right. But they are also so often done really badly. I don't want romantic Twilight, Vampire Diaries, or True Blood vampires. I want actually scary vampires.

A lot of people were there with you, and now I guess vampires are cool again? I dunno. It's okay to be sick of them.

Funny story, so my narrative documentary prof at uni had 2 rules for our term long short story project, 1) no ninjas and 2) no vampires. Because she'd seen them doing "everything" in her words and wanted us to be innovative.

Out of petty spite, that's how I started writing werewolves.

Err, werewolves have a lot of the same problems. Patriarchal toxic broody love interests with a side of control issues. (Ugh Patty Briggs etc) Or movie rampaging beast monsters. I end up writing what I want to read, werewolves who aren't brooding over being monsters, are being big families, and blowing shit up. (Like, it's really hard to see yourself as a monster, when 99.99% of the time, you were born a werewolf.) Maybe lycanthropes aren't people's thing. I'm having fun.

My roommate, by the way, threatened to write a story about a Samurai for the same class. I don't know if that ever happened.

I like the idea of vampire AUs just because I like stories about vampires. But I don't know that I trust most fanfic writers to do a decent job of a vampire AU, because I rarely see decent AUs of anything.

Yeah, from what I've seen and read of "NCIS" stuff, I never really understood this one, either. The "Criminal Minds" fandom, which I was in, often tended to cross over and interact a lot with the "NCIS" one, so sometimes I'd see fics and discussion from that fandom pop up online as a result. I remember a LOT of stories centered around the episode "Dead Air" and the authors going on about how awful everyone supposedly was to Tony in it and how those characters always got their just desserts for what they did to him and whatnot. It got to the point where I actually checked out the episode itself, 'cause the reaction had me so curious...

...and I came away like, "...that's it? That's what the fans got so upset about?"

I also remember that his fans always seemed to be imagining or wanting him to be this total badass, but then they'd turn around and woobify the hell out of him. It was a very interesting contrast.

I can't stand DiNozzo, although I always thought Gibbs was worse. The two of them made that show unwatchable.

I never noticed this but now that you point it out...I guess it checks out with her though -- her desire always was to fit in. That I recall anyway. She never accepted herself as she was, so in a sense, it makes sense that she would act it out on those who "aren't abiding by the rules" of society's standards too.

I don't remember what happened in the episode, but I remember when she finally got a "human" suit. Like out of everything that I remember of that show, it was Tucker)whoever the guy she liked was her friend, her mom who wanted Jenny to accept herself, and Jenny's obsession to fit in/the human girl suit.

Kids don't need to be in formal education to have fun and learn how to cook/bake. The vast majority of kids learn at home (if they are taught).

I just fished out my Kiddle recently and it's easier to read there, I'm hoping it makes me read more.
I used to always make sure to give a look at a used book store that I passed by when out buying in a shopping place, now it's hard to do so but this secret makes me want to see if I can find somewhere closer!
