I wrote a one-shot. >> Alas, it's not about the sheer awesomeness that the pairing could be - at least, not till I get around to revising and extending it.

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2009-02-11 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
104. Is that Gintama? It... kind of looks like it, but at the same time there's this odd 'something' about the art that makes me think it's not.

117. Agreed. If more people could be pals like Bill and Ted were, without sarcasm and cynicism, just good old fashioned honest pals... life would maybe be a little more excellent.

121. Really? Way I see it, it seems pretty much an even split between haters, lovers and that tiny little clique who just don't care.

122. .... So will the mext all-inclusive catch-all sarcasm phrase of Fandom-Secrets be "I'd hit the Joker with a Twilight book... in Italia? No, now I'm just imagining Bandit Keith with an Italian accent. Hilarious as that is it is just too longwinded to be efficient satire.

137. But now you told us, we do know it happened. Even if the majority may dismiss it and go about their daily business, and even if knowing may not change us or serve any purpose... at least we know, and can choose for ourselves what to do with this information. Reflect or dismiss. We wouldn't have that choice unless it was given to us. I think that'll count for something, in the end.

147. Arnold Schwarzenegger as the president of the U.S.A.

Well, I guess it's still a better treatment than "Obama" got in Air Gear.

150. Who is that, and how did he die?

154. I think this is why I don't get OTPs. So far I have not ever had a pairing I felt so strongly for, I couldn't enjoy other interpretations. Kinda cool that you are so dignified about it though. No name calling, just stating it short and sweet. I like that for a change.

157. As in "Candy Candy", the possibly oldest anime I've ever seen? Wow. That was a long time ago, don't even remember who the one in the picture is. What did she do?

158. "fall in nerdfighterlike"? Elaborate as to the meaning of this word, would you kindly?

163. I think that's the most adorable thing I'd ever heard being called a "fetish". I'm not sure what to think about that.

164. This on the other hand makes me feel like running through flowery fields and green meadows in a celebration of life and all it's wonders, madly fistpumping some hippie bro I am running alongside with. It's just that positive and inspiring. Who is Grant Wilson and what does he do? Shows, music AND books?

n!s 1. ... Unicorns are not porn? Well, duh. They're kind of a symbol for virginity, aren't they?

154

[identity profile] andromeda-2.livejournal.com 2009-02-11 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)

109: Me too. When Mickey admitted that Jackie is who he'd miss most, I swear a tiny part of my soul fizzled out of existence.

152: That is my favourite film EVER. It's beautiful. I don't believe in fairies or ghosts, but the film isn't really about fairies (apart from, obviously, most of it); it's about love and hope and family and friendship and oh god - I think I'm going to cry. It still manages to stir up my sentimentality. The perfume, Elsie's brother, the fairy's house, the hospital visit... those scenes all each need a box of tissues.

I didn't realise until your secret that Paul McGann was even in it. Actually, now I am thinking about it, quite a few famous faces are... An excuse to re-watch. Not that I needed one.

166: Why, hello there, you sexy picture of McGrath. *sidles up to secret*

101. You're right. I know I get very high and mighty about fan videos but I always try and leave constructive criticism. I think the problem is that 95% of the authors/creators don't WANT constructive criticism, they just want people to mindlessly worship whatever they created. If you point out some flaws the comments either get deleted or you get jumped by the fangirls. Or at least that's my experience so far.

136. I don't agree. I know it seems like fandom jumps all over the women characters but it's more of a toss up. This fandom is rather whiny to being with but to be fair Supernautral isn't known for it's good female characters. As far as I can tell fandom really liked Ellen, Meg and Sam's one night fling Madison. They were interesting, intelligent and capable characters. And fandom didn't like Jo, Ruby, Bella and Anne. (Actually Season 3 Ruby was half-half but the Season 4 recast made a lot of people dislike her -myself included and I liked Ruby before). One thing those characters had in common was that the show was trying too hard to make us like them. They seemed forced, contrite and didn't have any chemistry with the boys. It's unfortunate that the women characters get ripped to shreds by fandom, but if we didn't keep getting mary-sues maybe we wouldn't have to complain.

125. I am a HUGE Disney/Pixar fan, but Wall-E actually really disappointed me. I was out of the country while it came out and couldn't go to see it for several weeks. My friends went into rapture over it and told me how much I'd love it. But...it didn't do that much for me. I preferred both Bolt and Kung Fu Panda, tbh.

And I still fight them tooth and nail every time they say it's better than Ratatouille. bitch plz.

135. IAWTS. They're so domestic sometimes.

Re: 125

[identity profile] jimmyrabbitte.livejournal.com 2009-02-11 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been looking at this comment for about a minute, trying to figure out how someone could claim that Wall-E is a better film than Ratatouille. I love them both, because Pixar rocks me, but...yeah. Little Chef any day of the week. Unless he's up against The Incredibles, at which point all bets are off.

I think I'm weird because I totally ship Pleakley/Nani. I remember when the TV show first started airing, and I had read ahead of time about one of the experiments that involved love potions, and I totally wrote fic where Nani fell in love with Pleakley as a result. Lilo thought that Pleakley had been affected by the experiment too, but then at the end, you find out that he really does ♥ Nani.

IAWTC. I've gotten so used to it I hardly notice what people actually call their icons now, because I save them a) under something I'll remember (usually character name) and b) with the maker's name in the filename. It's one of the few things I'm obsessive about, I think. :D

101. That's because so many people interpret honest feedback as flames. Of course, there are many who don't and miss that feedback, but the ones who do are more vocal and scary.

114. Wait... Wall-E fans are ANTI-environmentalist?! Did they understand the movie?

143. It doesn't seem like it's worth it to me, in the end. I don't know. I guess I could see the appeal, I just wouldn't want to feel like a good portion of people hate me, as BNFs tend to be wanky (Non-wanky ones are pretty winful, though).

149. I started doing that last time I posted icons. It's seriously such a good idea for people who expect credit. That's why I make all of my own now - I can't forget where they came from.

167. :D I'm glad you found fandom!

117: lol. It's true.

149: I copy-paste the username into the filename when I save them, but I agree so hard. It makes me disproportionately happy when the icon-maker has already done this for me. I mean, why wouldn't you?
