Some of us just don't like shitty characters on that show.

I actually like a lot of the female characters on the show but some of them are just annoying, badly written or bad actresses. And no, I'm not gonna deny that this fandom is not filled with jealous/delusional/batshit insane fatties.


Also, it's not just because they're young and attractive. The lady in my icon doesn't get a lot of hate and she falls into the young and attractive category as well as Sarah.

I actually liked Wall.E for its animation and the story, but the morale of it was pretty idiotic. 8D;;

01) One time, I mentioned in a general fandom com that I think new writers should get very honest criticism. I might as well have said, "I think new writers are scum and should be beaten to death with a tire iron", for how people jumped up my ass. Concrit is actually highly toxic to the creative genius's special woobie soul! Who knew!

But yeah, there are plenty of people in fandom who are only there for the giggles and ego-stroking. People who feel that way are often stupid, loud, and easily butthurt. So, it's not worth trying to give concrit to a stranger unless concrit seems overtly, legitimately welcome, and I really, really wish that wasn't the case.

Use a separate email address to sign up--that way, if you get weird spam, it won't matter. I'm on a board for a different sort of fetish, and if they've contacted me, I don't know about it, because I used an email that's not associated with me and that I never check. I totally understand why you'd want to stay anonymous--I would be mortified if anyone knew about what I was interested in. But it can be a huge relief to actually write about it, so I would advise you to do so. I was so proud of myself when I finally wrote about my fetish. Practically glowing. It's so scary, but it's so worth it.

Eh, I found it more consistently clever and well-thought-out than those forced "sophisticated" shows that try too hard to make a point. It certainly is, along with Mononoke and Kemonozume, one of the only actually memorable anime shows I've seen in recent years. And I think its structure and almost-poetical-dialog-writing is too classic and old-school to be considered pop-culture. Or perhaps it succeeds because it mixes pop-culture with more serious storytelling devices. This would require a quite lengthy essay.

If you set out to become a bnf, the whole thing does get shadowy, political, hyperbolic, paranoid—it's a mess, and I really never need to get that close to the white-hot center of a fandom ever again. But yes, I sympathize, I felt a disheartened when I surpassed the Adventure ages, and then the Adventure character's ages in 02...it makes me wish I had some interest in watching Savers.

115. My mom works in a hospital and she and all her coworkers LOVE Scrubs, because the absurdity of the doctor/patient interactions make them feel like their hospital isn't so bad after all. I haven't met a hospital staff member or doctor (or any person involved in the medical profession) who watches Grey's Anatomy without throwing something at the TV for its inaccuracies.

146. Not Star Wars related, but sound effect related: when I was a kid I played a video game that for some reason involved the sound of a cat meowing. I played it so much that I know exactly how that meow sounds. If I watch a movie or a television show and I hear that generic kitty meow sound bite, I instantly dislike what I've been watching and rarely ever pick it up again. True story.
