103. WHAAAAAAAT? WHAAAAAAAAAT?

115. Didn't even read this. But, yay, Vocaloids! |D

117. I feel the same way. ): Nick better re-take the bar exam by the next game or I will be very emo-y over it. My whines will be epic(ly annoying).

132. Just glanced at it at first and wondered why someone wouldn't find him a little attractive in that picture and then I really did read it and was like; "What WHAT?! That's WHO!? EEEEEEEWWWWWACH!" And then I wondered "How did he get his hair like that? That's very metrosexual of you, Stalin."

146. *Giggles, picture*

151. Well at least someone will admit it.

164. ...Ew.

Not sure I agree with you on all those points, but yeah, slashers who don't support gay rights hurt my brain. That's no better than the frat guy who goes around bashing gays then goes home to jack off to lesbian porn.

[identity profile] nomiwolf.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
My mum felt the same way as you - she really hated the film - until I pointed out that its not the final message. Its only the second in the trilogy.
She's still a bit =/ about it but is now waiting to see how it finally pans out.

I've seen a lot of people agree with you. What I don't get is why it makes people so depressed. I could understand people hating what they did to Phoenix if after seven years he was still all depressed about it, but he's happy! He was of course devastated when he lost his badge, but if you had actually paid attention (especially during the fourth case) you'd have seen that having Trucy really helped him get through it. He's really happy now.

Plus, really? Don't you think it would have gotten really boring if they hadn't changed anything? You can only face off against a prosecutor that wants to destroy your life and/or win no matter what so many times before it starts getting old.

Re: 117

[identity profile] miss_prince.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoever you are, I agree with you <3 I can understand missing playing as Phoenix, okay. But he is not a miserable, broken ball of angst, and I don't see where people get that from.

Although I did think Klavier ended up rather boring. It was refreshing to have a prosecutor without an axe to grind for once, but he felt flat to me. Your mileage may vary.

122. Oh, believe me. It was hard to make it all the way through. It was a seriously mind-numbingly boring book.

130. Every fucking time. I love that book/movie so.

133. lol tell that to some of the more "adult" titles. Blade of the Immortal has more depth than a lot of "Western" series. /pet "but anime is only for kids!" series

146. I support gay rights. I write slash. I also realize that the characters I'm writing are fictional. Unlike you do.

157. You don't need an anon one -- just get a "new" username and only tell people that you want to have it what it is?

To write someone well, you have to write them as if they were a real person. Otherwise you're just writing a caricature. It has nothing to do with not understanding that they aren't.

144. ...but, um, if you have the CGs (which you obviously do), do you really need to get the sex scenes? Unless Nasu's gotten a bit better about his Fetish Retardant (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FetishRetardant) by the time he wrote HA.

Still, I can't complain about two posts with Fate secrets in a row.

133. Because no anime ever has emotional depth! I mean, sure, the ones in your secret are not shining examples of that, but.

107. Are you a newbie to the show? I'm assuming you're still on a Bones high. If you're not new to the show, I'd really like to know how you're still obsessed with a show that is now a shell of it's former self.

130. Awww. I hear it, too. I'd totally melt if I heard someone say "as you wish". God, I love The Princess Bride.

131. Hmm. In the beginning I would have agreed. Now, I have to disagree. Joshua Jackson is like David Boreanaz in that they can have chemistry with a fucking pencil, if needed. But, I think the lack of chemistry was coming from Anna Torv. She was a bit stiff, in the beginning episodes. However, she seems to be opening up more. Ever since they added the sister and the niece, you see a different side of Oliva. More natural acting from Anna. She smiles more and I think Oliva and Peter have a little spark going. It's not over-the-top chemistry, but there is something there, now. At the moment, I'm more of a Peter/Astrid person. I like Peter/Oliva, but not that invested just yet.

168. Sounds more like a case of hype backlash.

157. As much as you might not like it, getting an anonymous journal is the best option you have. A lot more people do this than you think.

146. I think it's possible for a person like that to accept their humanity, but sadly it's more of a "hate the sin, not the sinner" type deal. Which is just as bad, IMHO.

138. One of the myriad reasons why I didn't like that.

133. TROLL

121. Aw, it actually is a good movie! It's a shame that person who recommended it to you went all crazy, but don't let that stop you. I didn't think it was overwhelming, per se, but it's still really good!

120. Either stand up for your friend -- easier said than done, I know, but it's the best thing I can come up with -- or ditch the fandom altogether but not your friend. I really hope whatever you do, it works out. :(

101. Ouch. :( Maybe try getting new friends?

I seriously don't get why anyone censors themselves here. If you're going to curse, then have the balls to do it in plain sight. If not, don't do it at all. If your beliefs consider swearing a sin, arguing that you haven't by censoring a letter or two is just cowardly.

108-I don't see what the problem is. The characters deals with blood all the time.

146-I can't believe I'm saying this, but not necessarily. The person could write them thinking they're human but suffering from some bad disorder that they need to get over that is making them miserable. I do not agree with that view of gay people, but somebody could probably write it in a compelling way. Iow, homophobic characters are human, even if they're homophobic gay characters?

157-I don't think it's cowardly at all.

not! fandom 1

[identity profile] willag.livejournal.com 2009-02-23 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Dark chocolate, my good OP, is The BITCH. She, in all Her Holy Epic Supremeness, does not need anything else to complete Her. She is the East and the West, the Sun and the Moon, the Alpha and the Omega. Her qualities can be enhanced with other delicious flavors (mm... dark chocolate cheesecake), but She does not need them in order to rule. She does quite fine on Her own.

If one were to use a Christian analogy (and look at this from a conservative Christian standpoint), Dark Chocolate is God and Milk Chocolate are all the little people on earth who try to reach such greatness but fail. Yes, they have their good, epic moments but are too imperfect to make it far. White Chocolate, on the other hand, are all the false pagan gods that try to disguise themselves as God but aren't really (lol... white chocolate fails at being chocolate in general). So, naturally, in order to make them feel better about themselves, Milk and White Chocolate hook up so as not to feel so empty.

/o/... I took that analogy way too far. But basically, Dark Chocolate is deh shiz and don't need no dang shipping to make it oh so good. ;D
