134. Holy shit! A Lexx secret! I thought I was the only person in the universe that saw that show ^_^;

143. Yes! I hate when people get crosspost happy. Just post to the people who care and go away.

[identity profile] atom-bunny.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
My husband loves that show - and he still needs to get season 4 on dvd. I might have to see if I can turn it up for his birthday.

(Personally, I never saw the appeal past the first season.)

How are fantasy book series with stupid plot-devices or TV shows written only in order to get audience deeper than cartoons with the same purpose? Everyone in Fandom Secrets is an (wo)manchild, no way around it.

Rock on, you crazy kids. The internet is here for you to write whatever you want, to whatever audience you want, and have fun doing it. You're not hurting anybody, don't tie yourself up in knots over it.

133

[identity profile] skymeetssea.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
And based on your enthusiasm for judging others based on their interests, I peg your maturity level to be about sixteen, deep in the throes of that phase where you are OMG SO GROWN UP because you like TOTALLY ADULT THINGS.

Srsly, enjoy your trolling.

Re: 133

[identity profile] mikutsuki.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with everything except for the maturity level part so damn much.

Seriously, not every anime show out there has zero "emotional depth". That's like saying every book has.

If I weren't deliberately exaggerating, I'd have listed Spirited Away as an exception. I still quite like that one.

OMG IT'S A CARTOON CHARACTER HOW DISRESPECTFUL!

Re: 103

[identity profile] ali-wildgoose.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I think they mean disrespectful to the actual people who are being COMPARED to cartoon characters in order to piss off rival shippers.

133. You complain about anime not having "emotional depth," and then you smack Ghost in the Shell in your secret. LOL. Maybe you should've watched better anime. You know, like GitS.

152. That's... actually pretty accurate. o_O

157. Why? Lot's of people have separate writing journals. Though, to be honest, it's kinda odd that your parents are Googling you, especially when with guests...

133 OP

(Anonymous) 2009-02-22 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
The image was just one of the first to come up when I imagesearched "anime." And, obviously, I was being deliberately inflammatory--there are exceptions, as emotional depth goes, Ghost in the Shell being one of them (which I have seen, actually, and enjoyed). On a whole, though, I stand by the secret.

I see Ducky/Gibbs more than I see Tony/Gibbs. Tony/Gibbs have more of a father-son relationship, just like JD and Cox on Scrubs, which I've never been able to see. Unfortunately, most Tony/Gibbs father-son fics suck. I can also see Abby/Gibbs, although that's a little weird to me.

[identity profile] chaucerettescs.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
122. Heh, I forced myself to get through the first book because I totally agree that it isn't fair to bash something without having read it yourself first. But holy shit, Twihards, I do not see the appeal.

128. One does not have to be physically attractive to be totally fucking rad.

138. I see what you're saying. I tried to see it in a different context; that Gotham City is a place that is more or less always on the edge of slipping into anarchy, hearing that the one person they could look to as a "beacon" did what Harvey did would be that one last push. People lose it when we lose our only scrap of hope. That doesn't excuse the lie, though.

157. Get an anonymous account. It's not cowardly. Everyone needs a little privacy to do/write what they want. I'd hate for my family to see some of what I write. Lol, of course one half of my family is very homophobic and everytime they go off on one of their tirades, I sit there, smiling to myself, "I read gay wizard porn on the net."

108) You mean the actor...?
133) Uh...ignorant much?
143) OMG I hate when people do that
150) Haha you are not alone, I often try listening to a new band just because a celebrity I like listen to them

(Anonymous) 2009-02-22 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
It was an oversight- thought I'd put that one on there, too. My bad.

[identity profile] sarajayechan.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
157. Then tell them to stop it. That habit of theirs seems more creepy than cute.

WHAT?!?!!?

[identity profile] oldstarnewshine.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
121. Oh, but it's overwhelming in the BEST WAY. It makes you feel so incredibly good.
133. Eh, I call troll. Sure there are people who hate anime, but you'd have to be an idiot to say no anime at all has emotional depth. And if it's not a troll... You're just missing out, dude. *shrug*
138. Um... this was not supposed to be a GOOD thing. I dunno what the hell movie you were watching.
151. Me either! I read the thing expecting all this subtext and there really wasn't any... I supposed if you consider two characters in a panel together being subtext, maybe.
155. Afjdoaufosu I will never understand this argument. Bringing her back doesn't erase Doomsday! That all still HAPPENED, and every time you watch it they will think they are being separated forever.
163. Agggh, don't tell me these things, I love "Layla"
168. Your loss, bucko. You won't stop the rest of us from enjoying the fuck out of it, sorry to say.

133 OP

(Anonymous) 2009-02-22 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Deliberate hyperbole, dear. Obviously there are exceptions, and like I said, I had the anime-obsessed phase, so I can't say I never gave it a chance. I stand by the secret--especially in RL, where I've met a total of one anime fan I'm not completely appalled by.
