Okay, seeing you just quote another idiot poster set me off the edge. Do you even fucking read the "sets my teeth on edge" part? Or do you think that the ending of it justifies everything?

Maybe it's because I read the books where they didn't rape characterization to get some good good sex in there, but HONESTLY. I DID watch the first season, and even then it was obvious he didn't LIKE the blood.

Look at this as a good thing. The fact that you think he likes the blood because he puts himself around it? Is proof of your sanity. You don't understand that he NEEDS blood but he HATES it at the same time. That it can make him uncomfortable and set him on edge one minute, and release something dark and primal inside of him the second. That as a part of his job, as a blood splatter analyst or as a serial killer, he can look at blood in a cold, calculated, methodical manner and that he can handle it like that. It's dead, it's still, it's calming to have power over it. But if it's suddenly moving, something he doesn't expect, something he can't control, like the blood jumping up from an artery when he cuts it or like A WHOLE ROOM BEING COVERED WITH IT, he's going to lose it. It's suddenly a very dangerous and uncontrollable thing, like when he was a kid.

He's a fictional character portrayed by famous, well liked actors who couldn't possibly know what it's like to be a real psychopath/sociopath to begin with. As is the case with every villain in the film industry. Regarding tdk, yes, you can argue that Ledger portrayed the Joker well enough to convince us for the duration of the movie that he really was a twisted murderous psychopath, but the fact remains—it's Heath Ledger. Well... it's not that I think they would openly ridicule me, I'm sure they'd act very supportive. But wouldn't they be scornful deep down? Don't you ever read a crappy fic and think, "Wow, I didn't know they were so... pathetic." I know it might sound stupid, but I don't want these people to lose respect for me. There is something I do in fandom that I'm relatively good at, which is a bigger deal for me in my RL, too, so that's what I usually work on instead of writing fic.

That's the thing I don't understand about people's reactions to this. Okay, he's only two years younger than her. That's not the reason people find their relationship disturbing. 13 or 12 or whatever, he's clearly prepubescent, his voice hasn't even broken yet. He may be a teenager, but he's still in the body of a child, and until he hits puberty, anyone who's attracted to him sexually is attracted to a prepubescent boy. While I don't necessarily agree with your snap judgement on these people's writing skills, I do agree that they are hypocrites. In a lot of ways, these people are like the audiences in the 1960s who would go to see Sammy Davis Jr. perform and not question or be outraged by managers who forced him to use the coloured entrance.

A lot of people in our society, especially teenagers, don't want to think about their entertainment. That's not alright. Choose something less politically charged because if you think you can get your jollies in one breath and then use the next to tell people they don't deserve rights, you are doing one thing and saying another and that makes you a lazy, stupid, hypocrite.
