But you see, not every family is as respectful as yours seem to be. Mine used to make me feel worthless and a sick person just for liking anime. Now, if they had found out I also wrote fanfiction for it I'm pretty certain their "jokes" would have been hurtful and cruel.

Yeah, I did felt for a long time that writing fics was like a perverted dirty big secret, but then again, in some families you have to do it in order to protect your self-esteem.

I just kind of nod and smile and agree with people when they gush about TDK. It was definitely an amazing film visually and the acting was pretty stellar, but that side of the message really does give me shivers. :S

171 You aren't as special as you think you are. While it is possible that you are, in fact, a sociopath, I find it unlikely that you were diagnosed as such at the age of 14, considering that part of the diagnostic criteria for the sociopath diagnosis is that the subject is at least 18. Was this a self diagnosis or a diagnosis by an actual mental health professional? Even if it was the latter, for the most part that is an irresponsible diagnosis.

If you do happen to a be a sociopath, that doesn't mean that your "love" for the Joker is any more sensible than the average fan girl's. You're not special.

I like anime. I acknowledge it has flaws both as a whole, and on a case by case basis. Stereotypical characters, awkward dialogue, drawn out fight scenes, sometimes lacking emotional depth, alot of it's animation is produced on the cheap.

I love it in spite of and because of these flaws. If you do not like it, that's fine, it's hardly suited to everyone's tastes. But don't consider me worse than you because I enjoy it.
