156. Oh, honey. Have you looked closely at the magazines for that genre? Something like half the models are non-Japanese! Either way, remind yourself the style itself is cultural appropriation to begin with. Ruffles and pink frills are NOT Japanese in origin.

Ohgosh. I know completely how you feel. I've been in fandom for, what, four years now? And I've been saying that I'm 4 years older than I am.

I've made absolutely amazing friends but because of that, I had to tell them my real age. :\ So far, I've only told 4 close friends my age and actually, they took it rather nicely. They knew me so they didn't mind that I was just a few years younger than them. Still, I haven't told everyone. I'm planning to though. Trust me, it's not going to be that bad.

BTW, I'm way younger than you.

116: I've been obsessed with Titanic (the history) since I was little and I FUCKING LOVE THE MOVIE. I don't care what anyone says any more, I know I'm a hopeless romantic; I just love it so much. Sure, it's not exactly ground breaking, but it does have an extremely valuable, positive message. And seeing the ship come back to life makes me tear up every. single. time.

I think Spander came about because there really weren't a lot of central male characters on the show, and the number fluctuates depending on what season the fic is set in. So for a slash author who wants to write a Xander fic, your options are between Giles, Spike, Angel, Oz or Riley.

And of course, if two characters loathe each other with a passion, the fan girls see that as a sign that they're fucking off camera.
