134. You gotta tell 'em. Look, you're not the only one, for one thing; people lie about their age on the internet all the time. S'not the right thing to do, but people do it. Hell, people lie about a lot of stuff on the internet, and sometimes they don't even have a reason. You did. Doesn't make it right, and it's not an excuse, but you had a reason; fandom is srs bzns sometimes. So you srsly lied about your age to get some attention there. It happens.

But now you want to come clean which, of course, is always the hardest part of lying, really second only to being found out. And that's good, that's a good step, but in order to take it, you're realizing that you've got to be willing to put that fact about yourself out there. You have to be willing to say, to (from what I got from you) multiple people. And that's really scary, and it's not going to be easy.

But it will be worth it. For every moment you spend agonizing over this decision, you are wasting time that you could be spending explaining yourself. This is going to be a time-consuming endeavor if it gets out of hand and it might. But if these are people you would genuinely consider meeting irl, I think it will be one of the most valuable things you ever put effort into.

You might lose some of their trust. You might lose some of their friendship. But you might not. Maybe they've already figured you out, and are just waiting for you to tell them on your terms.

All you can do is look at the water, try and guess how deep it is, and then dive in as best as you know how.

122 - because it was fucking AMAZING!! honestly, i think if they had toned down the romance just a tad it wouldve been a better movie, but still. it was phenomenal.

134 - just tell them. i guarantee no one will care - i did the exact same thing when i first joined fandom, i just left my age at "18" for several years, then changed it when i actually turned 19. nobody ever noticed or cared. think about it this way: everyone on the internet is pretty much lying about SOMETHING. two years age difference? is probably one of the most minor white lies that people tell. if your friends really like you for who they are, and you tell them why you did it, they wont up and leave you.

134. I know someone who lied about being ten years older than she was, and when she told her f-list, they weren't upset. Most of us had guessed that she was younger than she said she was. That's just one situation. But if your friends are as great friends as you say they are, they probably won't get upset over it. It doesn't change who you are, and presumably they like you the way you are. I hope things work out for you.

136. Emma is hands-down my favourite X-character. She's sexy and confident and independent. I started reading for other characters and then discovered Emma through Generation X. (I even loved her title, even though it was a continuity nightmare.)

161. I love Rosario's Mimi. I've seen the stage show, too. But whether or not the movie was good (thought I didn't think it was that bad) didn't really affect how well Rosario portrayed Mimi.

105. Nah, not really. Honestly, slash did absolutely nothing for me when I was a teenager. It's only crazy-recently that I've started liking a few ships, and even then, they're usually not between particularly hot guys. If slash isn't your cup of tea, it isn't your cup of tea. It's not any more sexist than saying that any other relationship-dynamic doesn't work for you.



113. Honestly, the last episode I watched, years ago, had such a strong Jules/Lassie vibe that it's part of the reason I stopped watching--I knew they wouldn't go down that road, and I really wanted them to. They pounded fists and all.
Besides, Lassie deserves some happiness. Sean's just an unpleasant prick.

127. Man, I know the feeling. I'm supposed to like that comic for the plot and the phenomenal crafstmanship put into it by Moore and Gibbons. And I do. And I know that Rorschach, while appealling to every fangirl out there, is actually a dirty, smelly, kook, and is quite ugly in the comics, so much so that his shrink actually comments on it.
But I thought he was actually very attractive. Or, rather, that he looked like someone who would clean up nice. I'm a sucker for red-heads. He had nice eyes. And there's something so blessedly adorable about a guy that short in that particular outfit.

But. Not pining. No, no pining will happen here. He's just Rorschach. He's wicked cool, everyone knows that. I will not fangirl Rorshach and lose all my self-respect.

168. As a Zutaran who doesn't care for Mai, I have to wonder why anyone would bash them. They created a gorgeous work of art, and even had oodles of things done just to please or amuse fans of all persuasions (c'mon, the "tiny Zuko" moments were just such fun playful teases at our side).

166. Every time I see someone wishing that the Doctor were real and that s/he could be his next companion, I wonder if s/he has, you know, actually watched the show. Because I wouldn't want to spend my days being chased by monsters, tortured by aliens, running from Cybermen, etc. etc. etc.

If I ever saw the Doctor walking down the street, I'd run like hell in the opposite direction. Because it would only be a matter of time before the you-know-what hit the fan.
