106) :D That fic was AWESOME, as was the art posted along with it. Memorable thread was memorable. (unless you read it on adult fanfiction.net, in which case, just the fic, not the thread)

118) Really? Well, I prefer his old hat (lol old hat. get it?) if that accounts for anything.

128) I know. Though, I kinda hope "Tobi" was actually a real part of his personality so I can almost get used to watching the episodes with him in them. Otherwise, the whole "so, that's a really old guy with scary!face under the suit, eh?" takes over :(

127- Not a Rorschach fangirl, nor do I think he was that attractive under the mask, but I agree, his eyes are really pretty.

134- I really doubt a two year age difference would matter to anyone. Especially if they're your close friends. Just tell them. It'll be fine. :]

166- This has nothing to do with the secret itself, but. YOU USE ICHAT. A+ XD

[identity profile] defefi.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
158, I am curious what you mean by fanservice, as there's nothing in the canon material :< and the games are fun damn it, brb getting brofisted.

[identity profile] kimchiburger.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
105. I think most people wouldn't argue that it's sexist, but more like wish fulfillment, you know?

132. Neuro and Yako are such an amazing duo. ;_; ♥

134. Just don't fucking say your age. Who the crap cares if you're 13, 15, or 52. If you don't mention it no one will bother with it. Hell, I lied about my age since I was 15. It's only now that I'm 18 that I bother to put my full birthday on my profile.

I mean, yeah, I'm going to be a bit weirded out that a 14 year old is cracking penis jokes with me, but it's just an age. It'd also be hypocritical because I did crack penis jokes at the age of 14.

Plus, it's like 2 years away. O noes, someone is actually 2 years younger? I think it'd be creepier to claim you're a 17 year old when in reality you are 48.

Broadway elitists not only scare me, they piss me off. Not all of us live in New York City, guys. We can't all afford to fly/drive/whatever up there and buy expensive theatre tickets to see the "best" version of the show.

127. I wanted to slap myself when I found myself thinking the same thing. I don't want to be THAT fan... but DAMN Jackie Earle Haley looked good as Rorschach. Not your typical handsome at all, but I have to admit that the scenes where he's in prison wearing a wifebeater = Dur hurr hurr

To be fair, though, it was more the fact that he did such a fantastic job acting-wise. And considering the fact that the other actors up for the role of Rorschach were along the lines of Tom Cruise and Jude Law, I'd say the movie did as best they could at avoiding "Hollywood Ugly"

(and yes, he DOES have very lovely eyes.)

Tell them the truth. If they're really your friends, it won't make a bit of difference. An online friend of mine had been lying about their age and life the whole time we'd known him and when he let everyone know the truth nobody looked at him any differently. In fact many of us respected him more for having the guts to come out and say it. :)

[identity profile] batty-gal.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
101 - Getting flamed is a bad thing though...

105 - That hardly makes you sexist, just as only enjoying m/m ships doesn't make one sexist. It's the behavior that sometimes comes along with shipping preferences that makes people sexist, not the ships themselves.

110 - Shit, he was the only reason I went to see the movie. I can't stand any version of the Joker, and I was prepared to not bother with it until I learned that Two-Face was going to be in the movie. He made the movie worthwhile to me as well because his story was the only one I found interesting in that movie, and I love Batman. I hate how he was overlooked in favor of the Joker, and I hate that they killed him off and left the Joker alive. Yeah, I said it.

127 - Considering that the comic book character Deadpool is ugly as fuck underneath his costume and people would still hit it (sadly, this group includes me), I disagree with this notion.

150 - Blasphemy! I don't agree, but I understand.

154 - Sweet Neptunes! I agree with that so much!

155 - Some of those people deserve those reviews, though I have noticed that more popular pairings get more reviews regardless of the quality of the fic.

168 - LOL, now say that to Anne Rice fans. Wait... does she have any left? *ducks thrown garlic*

170 - I don't think either of those are dumb, though it pisses me off at how people imply that people who only like slash are somehow inferior to those that only like het, femmeslash, and especially only gen. I have went through periods where I've preferred one over the other, and in neither case have I felt superior at any point.

139. Are you kidding? I love moe. I also very firmly believe in...ergh, not feminism, but women's rights and female empowerment. But really, who says we can't like female characters just for being cute?

And you know what's the best? Seeing those moeblobs grow into really strong characters while still being frickin' cute.

149. Agreed. That kind of DEFEATS THE PURPOSE of Xander.

161. I HATE DAPHNE'S VOICE! The only good thing is that she sounds like she's dying the entire play...which she is. It almost makes you CHEER when she dies, then cry when she comes back to life.

[identity profile] bioniccheese.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
101. You wouldn't be as happy if you were the one being flamed. Just sayin'.

104. But he looks like Kirby with yellow eyes. Oh well. To each her own, I suppose.

122. Awww, same. And the worst part is that my family just thought that it was "okay". :(

127. ... yeah, IAWTS. He's a lot better looking in the movie, I must say. Damn.

134. Well, lying about your age certainly isn't the worst thing to lie about. Plus if they like you already and know that you're mature they should be able to accept you. Rejecting you after all of that because of age is pretty stupid. I say go tell them.

162. Argh, I still need to play this game so badly.

Re: 122

(Anonymous) 2009-03-08 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
That's how I realized I really, really adored the movie. A friend said that it was "okay" and not only did I feel defensive I also had to control the urge to set her straight - either through a long talk or a smack upside the head.

122. I love that movie too! And while it was a romance movie, it was different and refreshing from the typical romance movies. Especially since the climax of the whole thing was just a simple kiss.

161. I agree completely.

Re: 122

(Anonymous) 2009-03-08 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a feeling that's why I liked this "brand" - if you will - of romance.

Most romance movies have at least one sex scene between the main pair - as if sex is indicative of love or is always what love leads to - but SM didn't. In a way the kiss (especially because he kissed her scarred cheek first) was representative of how pure his love for her was. He didn't want to possess her, it wasn't carnal at all, it was just...I don't know, I think my explanation is going to get incoherent so let's leave at that...

113. The Shawn/Juliet stuff feels so tacked on, it's awful. I'm a Gus/Juliet shipper for the most part, but I wouldn't mind Lassiter/Juliet.

I'd prefer no canon ships, though, tbh.

161. I'm gonna go ahead and contradict the rest of the commenters by saying...I disagree. I liked Rosario's portrayal well enough for the most part, but she mangled "Out Tonight". And on a purely vocal level, I prefer Daphne; she puts so much character into her singing.

That said, I've never seen/heard a Mimi who actually fit the idea of the character I have in my head, or who I could believe as a nineteen-year-old who can pass for sixteen. And one of the reasons that I do love Daphne so much is because of the 10th anniversary performance, and her sarcastic little eye roll on "I'm nineteen, but I'm old for my age". So cute. ♥
