105) Absolutely not. It just means het and yuri turn you on and yaoi doesn't. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, so long as you don't conclude "therefore everyone must be the same as me".

109) There are some character types that drive me nuts as well -- but I wait to see the character in action before I come to the conclusion that there is no redeeming quality to them. Seems like you are jumping the gun in your character hate.

125) I don't really get either the phenomenon of BNF worship or hate. They are just ordinary people.

155) A high review count doesn't mean the fic fails either. BNF's generally hook into common sweet spots, telling stories that people like to hear about characters they like to imagine. If your tastes tend to be a bit skewed from fandom, they'll leave you flat. Me, I'm not into fluff. I just get nothing out of it, doesn't matter how well written, it's boring. And for me (not for other people) everything is forgivable except boring.

I know this about myself, so when I go looking for fics, I don't look at the comment count, I look at the summary to see if this is the kind of fic that will appeal to me. Because ultimately that's the point: Not to find the "undiscovered talents" but to find the "best writers who have the same tastes as me".

134. Two years is not that big a deal, seriously I don't think they'd even notice. I'm 26 now and the way I look at age is a little different than it was when I was your age. Two years is seriously like a drop in the bucket. There was one girl on deviantArt that confessed awhile back that she was actually 13 instead of 16/17 and nobody even cared they were like "oh really? Cool." I know sometimes it's hard for younger fans to be taken seriously but it's the maturity level and the personality that should count and not how many times they've ridden around the sun. I think you'll be ok :)
