How does someone who has massive self esteem issues, lack of self confidence, and tends to judge herself harshly no matter what learn to advocate for herself?

Honestly, I'm really easy to take advantage of. And now that I'm a department head, I'm having to learn to set boundaries and speak up for myself. And I've always struggled with this. Not to mention, my office takes advantage of me too, which I should have recognized before but really only started to recently.

I can advocate for anyone else. But when it comes to me, I just don't know how to do it. I can be confident and poised in court, defending a client, but all that goes out the window when it comes to defending myself. I just don't know how to learn.

I've been on semaglutide weight loss shots since August, but obviously I don't want to be on them forever. What's the best way to come off of them and not balloon up? I eat way less than I used to, and am more active, I'm just afraid of the pendulum swinging way too far in the other direction. Anyone here use the shots and did you have success keeping the weight off when you stopped taking them?

So I'm a woman, happily married to another woman. We're very different as far as sexual preferences. I generally am very submissive, enjoy bottoming, etc. She enjoys topping and being dominant. We've been together for six years and not once, though, have I ever got to wear the strap on. It's not like I have asked and been told no or anything, but I am curious and would like to try using it once. My fear, though, is that she has some sort of trauma or at the very least hangups about penetration, which I suspect, and of course I'd never want to hurt her or cause her discomfort, so I wonder if it's even worth asking about. If it's an uncomfortable subject, and again, I don't want to cause her any distress. Is there a gentle way to bring it up?

We're celebrating at New Years. Yet my mother went ahead and got me a bunch of stuff for yesterday anyway. She always goes all out for Christmas.

A couple gift cards: Chewie, Lane Bryant, and Apple
a cat-themed bathroom set with towels, mats, shower curtains, the worlds.
Some pretty jewelry, some socks, and a couple nice shirts and sweaters.

Also got a gift card for the massage school I like to go to from my cousin.

And of course, the cat can't be left out. She got some nice new toys that she's already played with, so clearly they are a hit.

My husband, who isn’t very handy or crafty, designed a keepsake box for me. He had our woodworker neighbor source and cut the materials for it, and presented it to me as a build your own project. It’s frankly gorgeous and the most creative gift I’ve ever received! I wanted a similar kind of box for our living room to house my dogs’ medicines and treats and now I have an extra special one. Or I will once the stain dries and I can put the finish on it.

And a gift card from dad for the specialty grocery where I have to buy most of my allergy safe food. “It isn’t very original but it works!” is what he wrote in his card.

I also got a gift card to the pet store from the sister charity of the county shelter. We’ve never had any dealing with them until last week when I applied to foster a senior dog over Christmas and we ended up bringing home three. They gave me the card when I took the pups back today (all are headed to long term fosters) and was humbled when they gave us a heartfelt card with the gift card inside. I guess they do it for all their fosters but it just really touched me deeply and unexpectedly.

A really great wool sweater and some solid plain tees that I was wanting and had on a wish list.

My husband also thoughtfully stuck two vapes in my stocking along with a Milka Bar and bubble gum (I love bubble gum) and bought me access to see the next season of Interview With The Vampire.

Circumstances this whole *season* (mid-november through mid-february have been/will be CRAZY for us) are pretty rough, and I've been working hard to make it a merry Christmas for my family while we go through some upheavals, but my family and friends have rallied around to make it a merry one for me, too! We didn't really do a lot of Christmas shopping because of some stuff going on, did a lot of gift cards/cash-with-the-promise-of-going-out-shopping-when-things-calm-down, but my aunts have sent books and little things, and one friend sent over some cookies and homemade pickles, and another friend sent me a figure of my blorbo... and I did get a much needed plush buddy to cuddle.

As much as I hate the Melkor abuses/tortures Sauron interpretation, I hate even more the "they did no wrong, it was all the Valar and Eru's fault" club. Uh, no. Even if you think Eru and the Valar screwed up on a lot, which I can buy, they tortured, murdered, conquered, and destroyed for fun. They are not secretly heroes. They are evil.

That whole "it's basically canon that Bucky was raped by HYDRA" thing. I get why it appeals to some people's ids, and yes, it's possible that it might have happened, but there's little concrete indication on screen that it actually did. It shows up everywhere, often untagged, and the people heavily into it get very angry if anyone else disagrees with their headcanon or isn't into their kink.
