I think seeing it in a theater would have murdered my eyes.

But I feel that way about the first Dr Strange. It’s the only 3D movie I’ve seen that was worth the (literal) headache.

This is one of those areas in which I think if the money doesn't go directly to JKR and it doesn't keep romanticizing how "good" the HP lore is, there shouldn't be any scandal or finger waving.

I try my best not to engage on HP stuff, mostly because the entire fandom and existence makes me uncomfortable, but I still recognize the influence the series had on me. I know that we don't just simply drop a fandom and pretend it no longer exists or that anything relating to it is instantly bad.

There’s a lot of AO3 on there, too! I can’t remember the steps I used to track them down but I found the fics I wanted to reread from an author who deleted their works and account. I think I searched using the title of one fic and then after that used the author’s name.

Yep! If you still have a link or can find a link to the fic by googling (on rec lists, for example), OP, you can always try archive.org.

Even if you don't have a link, if you know the author, you can try the archived versions of the author's AO3 page. I was able to save a few deleted fics that way.

Artificial sweeteners - monkfruit and allulose.

Normally I dislike the flavor of a lot of artificial sweeteners... it's too saccharine, or leaves a weird chemical aftertaste and it's very, very obviously not plain sugar. I cannot abide Diet Coke for this reason.

But recently I tried monkfruit (with erythritol) and allulose and they're not bad. I can still tell it's not sugar, but any weird flavors or aftertaste is far less than other types of artificial sweetener I've tried before. I'll consume it in moderation, of course, but it's been nice finding something that doesn't taste terrible.

Not to mention all the fic getting yoinked due to AI scraping or authors finding their works 'reviewed' on goodreads or getting translated/reuploaded/whatever'd without permission or AO3/OTW drama-of-the-week or......

I hate that just reading fic, even ancient fic, even meme fic, ends with people getting dragged into JKR wank.

Like, I get it. I do. But reading and/or writing fanfic doesn't benefit the bitch in any way, and a lot of people these days like to read and/or write fic instead of consuming whatever cash-grab bullshit she's churning out these days to fund her hatred, so... can we just let people read and write fic in peace? Please?

Recently listened to Beethoven's 3rd for the first time, and now I keep playing it on repeat. I never listen to 5 or 9 all the way through obsessively like this. And 3 doesn't have the iconic themes of 5 or 9, but it does such a great job of storytelling. Eeeee.

I stick with my small, intimate friend group and we go one day at a time, lol. Yeah, we get sweaty sometimes with it, but we usually keep each other in check when the delulu starts getting out of control. It's much better to consume it that way and we can have deep, serious discussions about scandals and whatnot without slurs, rampant name-calling, and genuine hateful comments.

Artificial Imagery is heavily polluting and you need to guesswork the damned thing over just doing shit yourself, but as an artist, I'd very much agree if it was heavily regulated and its training data was entirely voluntary. Or if copyright law was reformed into something more logical and practical for the common artist.

I've found that eating kimchi straight out of the jar is too much for me, but I like combining it with other things, like on a grilled cheese sandwich. (Don't knock it till you've tried it!) Or cooking it in a soup, kimchi fried rice, or ramen. Enjoy your newfound food, nonny!
