fiction on a kinkmeme is often requested because it gets off the prompter and turns them on in some way. no one requests something that repulses them.

you request a story about busty redheads in chains, it is safe to assume you are attracted to busty redheads in chains.

you request a story about sex on a pool table, i'll assume sex on a pool table appeals to you.

you request a story about a toddler getting fucked, i'll assume a toddler getting fucked appeals to you and this is a nice way to get it without all the nasty consequences of being a rapist.

i don't understand how "it's just fiction" means it can't be an inherent desire. the people who requested these obviously wanted to read about kids in a sexual manner. that's a fact. if i write a story about how i want a pie, that doesn't mean i don't really want a pie, since it's just fiction.

Not really.

One thing is that a fictional child is not a child, it is an idea. An idea of what a child represents, universally or to the person who wants to read about it. An innocent, a powerless thing, a taboo that's sexually exciting to see breached in and of itself. Etc.

Another thing is that you have no idea what a person is thinking or fantasizing when they request these things. One person requesting rape may envision themselves as the rapist. The other may envision themselves as the person being raped. Or both parties at once. Or a voyeur totally disconnected from the events. Or all of the above.

Innocent, powerless things can be represented in other ways besides children which is what is being judged rn... can't an adult be powerless? If the idea involves children in a sexual manner, regardless of what it represent, there's something wrong with it.

But even being a voyeur or the rapist or whatever role you wanna take, it still implies that this situation involving children is appealing to you regardless of the role.

It implies that to YOU. YOU'RE deciding you know what turns someone on IRL by seeing what they like to read in their fantasy de-aged fandom kink porn. The human psyche, especially the id, ESPECIALLY the part that controls being turned on, isn't so easily summed up and compartmentalized.

People who play violent video games, do they want to kill people IRL? They're getting pleasure out of killing fictional people, after all.

Hm... I have to disagree! Those prompts are maybe the kind you're talking about (i.e. prompts that the OP gets turned on by in some way). But I've requested plenty of things on kink memes that were totally not my kink, never have been my fantasy, etc. To me, it's an interesting thought-exercise to put characters in situations you know wouldn't happen in the original work, and to me there's a difference between dark fic that's very emotional even if disturbing and sexy fic I read for sexual gratification. I see both types requested fairly frequently on kink memes because sex can be a dark topic at times.

Same with people who write fills for such. Some people like to write things that are disturbing not because they get off on the disturbing aspect but because it's a challenge to write something dark and disturbing.

This pretty much sums up my views on the "it's fiction" thing.

Personally I can respect that someone has a kink as long as it's not hurting them or anyone else (real children take priority over fictional ones after all), but I think I have every right to find the kink disgusting. I'm not going to go around starting witch hunts about it but I won't lie and say I wouldn't look at someone in a different way if I found out they were into stuff like this.

That said this is why I don't go to kink memes that are known for having lots of freaky shit in them. I suggest you do the same, OP.

I don't want to get drawn into this, but I think in this particular case this argument is flawed. These are not fictional children in canon (except in a few, rare flashbacks) - SPN is about 2 grown men. If you are specifically de-aging them so that they are children, obviously them being children in the story is an important quality. They would likely have most of the same personality traits and qualities in stories where they are canon-aged, but you don't care about those qualities - you want them to be children. And then you want them to fight over a dick. That's just... it's clearly the "child" traits that you want to read about.

This. Would you rather them sit there and bottle their fantasies up? Stop shaming people with harmless fetishes-- and YES, a fetish is harmless as long as it stays within fantasy and no one gets hurt. If they are 'harmful', then there should be laws against this victimless "crime".

I don't get why people don't have this exact same sickened mindset toward rape. I have a fetish for rape, gangbang, tentacles, all that weird stuff. Does that mean I want to ACTUALLY go through the traumatizing and emotionally scarring experience of getting raped? Never. There is an aspect I like about it, and that's dominance. Does that mean if I were to get raped, I was asking for it? Does that mean someone who has a rape fetish and wants to be the rapist is more likely to rape someone?

I'm sure people are well aware of the morality over lolicon and shotacon, but most people I know with these fetishes have NO attraction to real children. Making one of the characters child-like focuses on the aspect of corruption of innocence, at least that's what I always figured.

Remember, pedophilia is the ONLY fetish that has no legal alternative outside of fiction, not even safe role-playing like you can with rape. So stop assuming these people are automatically criminals. They're as much criminals as the children role-playing violence in video games.

I don't know this fandom, but fiction or not, symbolic or not, this concept bothers me. A lot.

If it's not about getting off to little kids, why not ask for something with the character "aged-up"? Why would you ask specifically for child abuse? Just reading this secret made my stomach turn, those situations are completely disturbing and happen to real children, the doctor one hits really really close to home and almost made me tear up.

I do not care how they try to justify it, I don't care if they use it as an outlet. Stop trying to defend it and pretend there's nothing wrong with you, and get real help.

I agree with cafune.

Fiction is a way we can fantasize without any real life consequence. The fact you have a thought doesn't mean you'd ever act on it or condone it, but the fact you request a kink about it means it must appeal to you on some level enough to have a kink request for it.

As long as it only stays in their head I think everyone is entitled to fantasize but that still doesn't stop me from being disgusted at seeing stuff like that.

But kinks aren't always representative of literal sexual desires. Often they're representative of some deeper desire - a scat kink, for example, is (from my understanding) more about a desire to humiliate/be humiliated than the actual desire to be shit on. Underage kink, for many people, is more about the feelings and emotions and power dynamics involved than any actual desire for sex involving children. For some people, sure, but for many, many people, our kinks are not literal representations of our desires, but rather manifestations of some sort of emotional desire.
