Yeah, no. The problem with that line of thinking is that there's no true way of knowing what the greater good is. And even if you think you know it... there's really no way to know all the possible consequences of it. And there are some things that are just wrong.

Giggling and laughing in a good way? Because if it was just a basic humor rather than a condescending humor, I think that is pretty hilarious and would love to see that interview. Honestly, fandom is funny sometimes. Ok, it's funny a lot of the time.

It's not okay. And the secret's attitude is the attitude of many a fan. I almost cringe to admit I like this show because I don't want to be grouped in with these people.

*headdesk* This is why I stick to reading fic and not press releases and meta. Because I don't want to taint my experience of the show. Why on earth would anyone want to alienate the actors and writers who make these good things for us by handing them stuff any reasonable person would blush to be caught reading on the subway? Or passing around pictures of someone's kids? Because it's just plain wrong. Something similar practically destroyed another fandom I was in years ago and created such bad feeling that I abandoned all my WIPS and couldn't even look at a picture of the source material for over a decade.

OP, stick to the fic and avoid the meta. Like the characters and not the actors. You'll be happier in the long run. Really.

Actually, I looked this up, and it would appear that yuri has originated as shoujo/josei and nowadays has also crossed over to shounen/seinen. So it would appear that it's not firmly either, as a genre. Separate works of course fall under specific categories.

I'm unsure what this means... is that official artwork? 'Cause they look white to me. But I know America (possibly other countries?) have different ideas than my country.

Eh, I think to some extent it has to do with sexuality, compounded by how female characters are treated by the media.

The few fandoms I've found that had lots of men in them who were shipping and writing fic all had lots of female characters, who were strongly characterized and had lots of interaction. Definite Bechdel passers, like Sailor Moon, Marimite, and MLP:FiM. Also things like Mass Effect, where the female protagonist is appealing to a lot of dudes because her voice actor puts on a superb performance, but they don't want to have to romance a man. So they choose to have her romance one of the female crew members, and the men I know who enjoy the game get really, really heavily invested in the the relationship.

Whereas the canons of most media period are very male-dominated, and tend to either have a single token female, or a couple of them who never seem to interact much unless it's about the dudes. Not very much shipping material there. If anything, this is a similarity between men and women rather than a difference, because I wouldn't be very interested in shipping the few token men in Marimite or BSSM, either. Unfortunately, such canons are rare. I've seen some guys ship a series by gender-swapping the entire cast, so that the characters who get interaction and screen time are all female.

The twisted Norse mythology
Fun villain
It didn't take itself too seriously (a la TDK)
The Hero wasn't perfect
The Hero didn't spend the whole time angsting (but I guess Loki did enough of that)
I didn't hate the human characters like I was expecting to

A 17 and a 22 year old is fine. It's completely legal. 14 and 19 would still be illegal but the charges would be lowered because they are both minors; only the 19 year old would be charged.

Oh come on! That's the stuff that I just can't understand, I don't do conspiracies, I trust the police and politicians and if that makes me stupid or whatever so be it. (And to clarify no I don't blindly trust everything, but I am a big believer in "if one person does something stupid it is not the groups fault, it is the individual" and I shouldn't trust the state less just because there are some idiots around.)

Ah I see, it just confuses me because I grew up with 16 is the age of consent, before then it is illegal, and if one of the parties are over 16 he will be charged with sex with a minor, and that's it.
