Because I enjoy the use of hyperbole.

But also because neither of those two ships that you mentioned are actually a thing in fandom.

Sansa/Sandor is pretty hugely popular, so I have to see it all over the place when I'm looking for fic and am reminded of how much I dislike this pairing every time I see a fic featuring them. Like, their popularity baffles me and the way they are romanticized... IDK. i just don't get how anyone can like Sansa and want her to end up with Sandor. She's been through enough already. Can we not saddle her with a manchild who is aggressive and ~15 years her senior?

Correction, I think it is the most popular ASoIaF ship period. :P

As for it being so popular, I think people enjoy the drama of it and how rewarding it would be because of it if Sandor softened up and hooked up with Sansa. Not saying that the ship is healthy or non-creepy, but most fantoms I've known have always preferred the sick bad boy ship over any nice and safe option. Probably because they see "nice, safe and healthy" as boring.

Because Sansa/Gregor and Sansa/Joffrey.aren't chuck full of "abuse is ok and means he loves you and the power of love will change him into a fluffy bunny and the age difference isn't creepy at all."

Also, there's more San/San, which exponentially increases it's annoyance and creepy factor.

They're aren't nearly as ubiquitous as SanSan. But I saw a Sansa/Tyrion fan compare the treatment Sansa/Tryion fans get from the rest of fandom to the civil rights movement.

Tyrion is actually nice to her (and not "Nice Guy" nice, just "decent and kind person" nice) and actually makes a point of defending her even before he's into her, just because he's got a sense of morality and there's shit that decent people don't allow to happen, so while I perfectly understand why she's not into him, I could prefer that pairing to "Abusive asshole who screams at her and threatens her and nearly raped her, but wasn't such a jerk as some other people were (which in the ASOIAF series is not that big an achievement).

But yeah, I'm glad that Martin made it realistic where Sansa doesn't like him or trust him and thinks he's ugly, because that's what would actually happen in real life.

You're free to find SanSan disgusting but this is fiction so who gives a fuck.

Sansa & Sandor's dynamic was hands down the most interesting part for me (at least in the 2½ books I've read so far). I know it's a thoroughly unhealthy ship but that doesn't make me want to see it any less. The world context also makes me overlook their age difference since it was fairly normal to wed 13-year-olds in the middle ages.

You can't really apply modern values to a place like Westeros, can you. If I'm going to accept the characters murdering each other with swords, I'm also going to accept them marrying 13-year-olds.

Also 13 is perfectly legal in some countries. As far as biology goes there's hardly any problem with it.

lol. No. I mean, I have a personal dislike for SanSan more than Petyr/Sansa because people who ship Petyr/Sansa tend to acknowledge the squickiness of it more than SanSan shippers. But both relationships are incredibly problematic.

Oh noes, some people may not love something you love. They are obviously ruining everything for everyone.

I'll just preemptively explain that I don't think everything ever needs to be nurtured and embraced and supported in fandom. People who like sick ships without any recognition of how bad they are? Ain't gonna shed any tears for them when other people point out how creepy those ships are.

I wouldn't be surprised by this pairing, if HBO suddenly decides to ignore canon, but Sandor/Sansa just makes me so unbelievable uncomfortable. Talk about an unhealthy relationship.

Do not feel bad about this. I like Jon/Sansa (although, I can pretty much read any pairing with Sansa except with the horrible ones like Joffrey or Ramsay Bolton obviously) and Dany/Victarion. We all have our weird ships in this fandom tbh ^^. It's the contrary that would have been incredible XD.
