Nah, I don't think this one's a troll. That's kind of the unconscious assumption I work with too. Not EVERYwhere, but if there's fic being written, characters and/or relationships (not necessarily romantic ones) being squeed over, fanart being drawn, gifs being shared...I'm probably going to assume UserNameThisPerson is female until they say otherwise.

Or, I suppose, more accurate, when UserNameThisPerson says something that confirms they're female (or, at this point, gender neutral), I am unsurprised, but when they say something that implies they're male, I am surprised.

It's the vibe in online fandom, which may be a little silly, but I guess it makes for a nice change of always assume male is the default.

For instance, I was pretty excited to learn there was going to be a Luigi’s Mansion 2 for handheld. Then, I learned it was for the 3DS and the 3DS only (I only have the DS Lite and don’t have any desire to upgrade).

I had been waiting years to be able to own and play a Luigi’s Mansion game for myself. Now, I’m still waiting.

Ah, the evolution of games. I'm grateful Black/White 2 will still be for the DS, because I too only have a Lite and no will to upgrade.

For me, it's always "Look at this nice movie...playing in limited release...600 miles away."

You care about him enough to spend time researching mythology (or at least wikipedia) to write your own grotesque sadist fantasy. Not that grotesque sadist fantasies are bad, but they do not show indifference.

Thus, I must determine that either you do not understand your own feelings well enough to realize you do care, or you intended to start some kind of wank. I feel like Hayden Christensen just can't play a likable character. I liked Anakin in episode I and after that no...I never liked his character in Higher Ground. In Jumper? I was rooting for Griffin.
