There's something about this secret that really squicks me, and I think it's because I'm a survivor of brother-sister incestual abuse that started when I was under the age of 10. I guess it's because there are probably some people who write brother-sister incest as part of their coping mechanism/healing process, the same way some rape survivors will write rape fantasy - because it's something we can control. So you might be approaching someone who shares your same kink, or you might instead be approaching someone who is still recovering from their trauma.

There are power imbalances between siblings, though they may not appear as great as between parent/child. My brothers were still stronger, bigger, and more readily believed by my parents, not to mention they was supposed to be people I could trust but instead I had to live in the same house with them for years dealing with the abuse because, hey, where's an eight year old girl supposed to go?

(Also - I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned anything about trigger warnings.)
(And I'm not sorry for harshing on someone's kink.)

Thank you for bringing a dose of reality to this. I get really uncomfortable when people talk about incest (or rape, or bestiality, or molestation) as some kind of positive thing. In most (if not all) cases, incest is abuse, and to have it dramatized and romanticized in fic takes away the reality of it.

If someone has a fantasy about "noncon" with their sister that should not be praised or accepted. I'm all for live and let live, whatever floats your boat and so on, but there is a line between someone who is into to BDSM and Jerry Sandusky.

Sometimes I think that people are so stuck on the tumblr definition of acceptance where everything and everyone is okay and anything less than that means you're shaming a special snowflake. So many people are afraid of being labeled as an "-ist" that they will side with the Jerry Sandusky's of the world. It makes me sick.

I was molested when I was 7. However, I don't think that someone who has an interest in fictional incest and would like to roleplay it out with a consenting adult that isn't even related to him is a "Jerry Sandusky."

Would I want to roleplay out being a victim of sexual abuse with someone else in a bedroom situation? no, I doubt it. But would I automatically assume that anyone that's interested in doing that with a consenting adult in the privacy of their home is going to go out and molest a child like I was? No. I wouldn't want to hear the gory details about it, but sometimes fantasy really is just fantasy. For other examples, I don't think someone who plays a game with multiple options and always chooses the violent, angry routes is someone who will actually become a killer in real life. Nor do I think actors that can portray villains well are actually evil, or that someone who can portray a gay man is actually gay (or that someone that can play a straight man is actually straight), etc.

I don't agree.

Personally, I think that someone who has a fantasy of incest abuse
(it is abuse, not a 'lifestyle choice'), raping or molesting others has a little seed of evil in them. Even if they never actually engage in those activities irl, that bit of darkness is still in them.

Sorry, I'm not going to sit back and give the op of the secret a special snowflake pat on the back because they take enjoyment in an abusive relationship.

Incest is not always 'abuse', period. My paternal grandparents are first cousins. They stayed married all of their lives until my GF passed away from pancreatic cancer.
