Re: Weird songs/music you like?

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, Pet is not a slower version of that song. CBLSttRotWD is the "second half" of Pet according to Maynard. It's lyrically and melodically different, as well.

I know right? I've always been so jealous of her hair. I have long hair but it never looks that good in the wind.

And I totally did that too in the pool. My hair just made my head look like an octopus.

Seconding this! I watched this on Anime Network a while back, really enjoyed it.

Personally, the Read or Die OAV is my least favourite part of the ROD franchise (among the portions available in English - IE, the first two manga, and both anime). I would recommend ROD the TV (26 episodes), however. It's much better in every way - there's characterization! The plot's not just an excuse for blowing stuff up! OK, Anita's voice in the Japanese language version makes me want to poke my eardrums out with rusty nails. But that's minor, and easily avoided by watching the very good dub.

I just rewatched the Opening Ceremony last night and the whole thing was so much fun, this segment included! I loved that whole attitude of not being afraid to poke fun at themselves or take themselves too seriously.

It could still help to go to therapy, though. Sometimes just talking and laying everything out helps out. Actually, in my experience, that was the main benefit of therapy. I had to explain my thought processes, and doing that helped me see how fucked up they are/were.

But, you know, failing that, there's always journalling or talking to a friend or someone else.

**hugs** I hope you feel better soon. ♥

I wouldn't call her 'bitchy', but I recently wound up rewatching Snow White at the childcare center where I work and was surprised at how much she ticked me off.

[personal profile] unicornherds 2013-02-12 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
I do the same, mostly for personal secrets that are actually secrets. For those, which I admit are rare, it's more about just getting it out there. Therapeutic. And it's way too personal or I'm way too sensitive about it to read the comments.

I'm very tempted to fuck up rude customer's accounts. I'm getting sick of how cruel they are, threatening to get me fired from my job for...going my job.

I have you private details
Your credit card numbers
I basically have your life on screen in front of me.

WHY ARE YOU BEING AN ASSHOLE AND THREATENING ME FOR DOING MY JOB. Why are you so petty just because I need to clarify some minor details. You'll ruin my life and make me jobless and argue for hours over a phone number

Stupid bullies

(not going to do it obviously but it would be very easy. Our calls are not recorded and I can see EVERYTHING and my bosses are not going to fire me for following protocol)

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, but most people don't. A small subset that the internet at large is fascinated by does. I think most people think Jasmine looks stranger than Ariel. She simply looks more like a caricature.

I loved Kate's scenes in the comic. And Loki...and Miss America...and Teddy.

Billy was the one I didn't like as much, but I can seem him as being a bit self-centered so it kind of worked too. I really miss Jonas and Cassie, and Tommy and Eli, but like you said line-ups change.

Though I would like to know why Eli was made off-limits.

I certainly don't expect people to instantly love anything I make/write/etc for them. I'll be sad about it, sure, but I'm not going to take it personally if it's just an issue of clashing tastes. Sometimes different people just like different things. And that's okay.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
not op

I agree with number 4 specially: if shit hits the fan, the absolutely worst thing you can do is to keep fanning the flames by answering or replying to anything, like to clear up things, not to defend yourself, nothing

go on a hiatus to avoid the temptation altogether

seriously, wanting to play PR or to straighten things is a losing game with this kind of people

you won't come out with your reputation unscathed, so don't bother trying to save it

I would go as far to say as to abandon the account, or at least not to log in until you are at the point where you honestly don't give a shit about the fallout

the good news is that the people who are worth knowing will spot the drama bullshit and the ones who care aren't worth associating with

once you go back to check on how things unfolded, you can see who was a chill person and who was a drama hungry shark, so if you want to jump back into fandom, you will know who to avoid

also, the satisfaction of having done the right thing, blah blah

Re: Old/outdated secrets that you never made.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
I can't find it and I've stopped listening now so it isn't relevant, but for a couple of years I kept meaning to post this secret I'd made. It went something like:

Football fandom is my life at the moment but I'd give it up completely for one fic about this stupid podcast [The Guardian's Football Weekly].
B!S: I ship James/Paolo/Rafa!

And I would have done. I loved that stupid podcast.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
You heard it here first, folks: "infantilizing" is something tumblr totally made up.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
I absolutely loved Skyfall but I loved the Olympic intro even more :)

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Eh...I don't know how someone can honestly think most people think this:

http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/22300000/Ariel-Wallpaper-disney-princess-22331194-1011-1342.png

is less realistic than this:

http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/29700000/Princess-Jasmine-disney-princess-29762439-259-300.jpg

Jasmine is pretty and all, but her face is a lot more abstract and cartoony than Ariel.

She's a racist homophobe who verbally abuses her own daughter pretty much daily. It's ridiculous for her to feel like she needs to change herself physically to 'get the guy' (he gave her a makeover IIRC), but on the inside she was pretty darn rotten--and still is, IMHO. Maybe she's coming around, but she's doing it at the behest of her guy and not because she genuinely realizes she's kind of an asshole.

Re: Flight or Invisibility, F!S?

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Both would be probably better since I'd like to fly invisible. I mean I can't be flying in plain sight while going to college. High chances of being seen and it's just awkward.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Good example, but we really didn't need any visual aids.

Yeah no I felt this was completely consistent with how idiotic Billy can be.

I still didn't like it because I don't want another freakin' Children's Crusade that's so focused on Billy that the rest of the cast is just set decoration, but still.

Note: I do not dislike Billy.

I'm hoping it gets a lot better, because yes it's only a first issue. But I'm going to be honest in saying that I'm mostly here for America and Kate.

Re: Cable sucks

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
So what exactly is cable? I see people talking abuot it and I'm assuming it's...tv?

Actually I've no idea what to assume it is

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
If we can't have this film, could somebody please at least direct me to the fic?
