Of all the jokes you could have possibly made, you went for the laziest one.

I am disappoint.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-20 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what it means. It gives the tale a certain something, as though it actually happened somewhere near you and the characters really exist.

I don't think many people are arguing that Gothel didn't love Rapunzel in her own way. But just because you love someone, doesn't mean you can't still be a horribly abusive parent towards them. And Gothel was damn abusive. She's not "not a saint", she is horrible.

Also, even if she's not exactly like their mother, her actions can still cause negative reactions in people who had mothers who weren't exactly like her, but who still did some very similar things.

You have no idea how the television/broadcast business works do you? The parent company negotiates separate deals with each country who then own the rights to show material in that country alone. If you can't see something where you live, blame the people who own the rights where you live, not the people who made the thing in the first place. It's all about money and protecting copyright, and it will never be about anything else.

There is this band I love, and I wanted to BUY their records somehow to support them. After HOURS I found out that there was no way to legit buy their shit online in mp3, only the physical CDs (and pay more AND shipping).
I ended up buying them nonetheless, but for other bands? No way, it takes me 5 seconds to pirate them, it's not my fault that BUYING stuff is so difficult.

I know ScarJo worked out like crazy for that role. I think she might just be an endomorph and I wouldn't want Natasha recast just because Scarlett isn't cut enough.

He killed the movie for me. He was just the most boring character ever made, physically and personality-wise

[identity profile] galerian-ash.livejournal.com 2013-05-20 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That was low and unnecessary, even for you.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-20 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the author choosing not to name a real place (because people living there might disagree with the portrayal) or make up a fictional one (because people might see the story as unrealistic).

This. Natasha is first and foremost a spy. The superhero thing is more of a thing that kinda happened along the way. She's a femme fatale first and foremost.

Used to dress the part too

Some of you might remember me making a post about this a few months ago. We still haven't decided on a time, but comment here or here on my journal if you plan on going. I think Saturday might be best but I'm open to suggestions! I'll put reminders here for next few days (I'll be leaving Thursday afternoon and not bringing my computer) so that everybody gets a chance.

Dany's hair has its off days, but I still love it. For a time I was baffled by her dark eyebrows, until I realized that super-white eyebrows would basically just disappear into her face. I don't know about any other wig complaints; maybe the elaborate hairstyles? But that is actually not as weird as people might assume off the bat. Elaborate hair extensions are a fairly old concept. We have found plenty of archaeological evidence and historical evidence from the European Middle Ages to justify it.

I don't have much to say except daaamn, that's a very attractive picture of him.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-20 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
My pet peeve is that Dany and Cersei's eyebrows don't match their hair color. It's the "Legolas thing" all over again. Shit don't work like that in real life (I'm from Sweden, I can tell)... but I guess this is fantasy...

(Anonymous) 2013-05-20 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Goblet of Time sounds like a fun fantasy series. I'd probably read those books.

My brain does stuff like this all the time. Whenever I see RDJ instead of Robert Downey Jr my brain goes "Richard Dean...J?". Then with JGL instead of Joseph Gorden-Levitt my brain automatically thinks of Jake Gyllenhaal. Brains be weird.
