i've discovered that imagining brutal but very unrealistic torture being done to me calms down my anxiety like nothing else and haven't had a panic attack since i discovered this. it does not turn me on or anything and it also does not upset me, it just calms me down and i dunno why

Omg are you me? Instead of counting sheep, I've been imagine myself caged and whipped and ah, raped since 12. If I don't do this I get panicky about the end of the world, the sun exploding and wiping out the Earth leaving no trace of anyone behind. Mum was pregnant then and I was too big to climb into bed with her anyhow. I know I got issues man but it's either this or no sleep.

No amount of "but what about meeee! (etc.)" will convince me that there ISN'T a gender binary that covers male/female/trans, with everything else being snowflake labels so people who don't fit the statistical norm for men and women can feel special. So instead of spreading the wow shocking notion that stereotypical norms are bullshit, we've just made more walls and boxes that divide everybody.

My boyfriend is constantly misusing words like literally and objectively about emotional/subjective reactions (That movie is objectively shit! or Dogs are just literally worst than cats and anyone who says otherwise is lying!) and it's become frustrating enough for me that I don't want to spend more than a few hours with him at a time. It's not about stuff that actually matters but it just piles up into a mountain of annoying.

I don't know what is wrong with me, but I have a severe lack of empathy. When someone is hurt, sad, bothered, I just can't...empathize with them. Objectively I know something is wrong, but when people come to me with their problems I either don't care OR I just freeze up and try to back away from the situation.

It has gotten to the point that my siblings have realized this and adjust accordingly by not complaining about stuff to me or looking to me for emotional support. They know I love them but they also know I have no idea what to do with all...that.

Sometimes I go out in the hallway or on the stairs in my underwear, even though I have a male roommate and I'm female. I just make sure he's in his room or not home. This is really really stupid because he has almost caught me a couple of times because he came in the door. (I'm not trying on anything with him in any way either. I'm just too fucking lazy to get dressed just so I can go to the kitchen for a glass of water.)

When I was a kid I was too lazy to go down the hall to the bathroom so I squatted and pissed on the carpet beside my bed every morning

That came to a stop when my mother came into my room barefoot one morning though.....

I'm the anon that inadvertantly hijacked a secret discussion a couple weeks ago with talk about my unemployed SO who can't manage money and has resorted to begging people, usually her parents, for bills and rent every month. (Yes, SO was in fact a she, despite most people's assumptions.)

SO actually went out the next day to put in a job app, and the next day to an employment center to register for a resume writing workshop, and I wondered if someone maybe tipped her off about that thread (she doesn't do F!S) and she recognized herself...

Then just now I found a bunch of charges on the account we use to pay bills (which did actually have some money in it which was rightfully hers at the moment). She went out and got a replacement card for the one I took away, without telling me, and when I asked what the $70 charge to a department store was, she couldn't tell me. She said she didn't remember. This was like a week ago.

...So she's either having dissociative episodes or lying to me, and I am fairly sure it's the former, and I am scared to death for her because I can't trust her to go anywhere by herself now but I am not physically well enough to leave the house many days, and I just. I don't know what to do.

Only half nonfandom, but I'm so bored with my flist these days. Largely due to lack of fandom, but also because their RL isn't that interesting. I feel like a bad friend, but I really don't care what their son ate for breakfast. I get enough of that on facebook and twitter.

It bothers me when my bookish friends make fun of people who can't read, because I wonder what they'd say about me if they knew I barely passed Algebra I in high school. I know, bookish people can't do math, but that's not the point...

I've spent the whole summer being incredibly upbeat and positive about this year, swearing I'm not going to have the same problems, but here I am the night/morning before my first deadline with the whole project still to do...again. It isn't even graded and I'm still having exactly the same problem.

Whenever something political happens, all my friends start snarking about it nonstop, and the constant onslaught of pointless sniping drives me nuts. It feels like everything is an opportunity for a joke at Republicans' expense to them, as they have no interest in actually discussing shit. So I'm stuck with a bunch of friends who I mostly politically agree with, but can't talk to and whose pathetic attempts at being witty make me want to bang my head against the wall.

So, I've only told one other person this, and I'm curious whether it's not as uncommon as I think...

Every time I sit at my home computer, I have to poop. It takes a few minutes to show up, but all of a sudden I have the biggest urge and I'm dashing off to the bathroom. Odd things: 1) I've noticed this to be a thing over the last ten years, 2) my chair has changed often since then with no change in the habit, 3) it doesn't matter if I go beforehand, 4) my weight has fluctuated during that time with no change in habit, 5) it doesn't happen at my work computer.

It's only frustrating when my husband and I get back from somewhere because he's called dibs on the bathroom and I figure I'll just check Facebook.

So yeah. Gross snapshot of my life.
