She was legit cool in this last ep, at least for a few moments. But for her to actually stop annoying everyone F!S?

I jave to say, the last ep was really good for her. The show seems to be picking up as a whole, but it's really obvious in her case. (Ward too, but less so than Skye.)

Now if the next episode could make the science twins (especially him) more likeable I for one will be happy with the whole team. Though there really need to be more May now that she's officially back in combat.

I agree about Ward. I don't care for him (or Skye). The only ones I really like are Coulson and Melinda May.

I can't say I truly dislike any of them. I'm still waiting for them to develop actual characters to (dis)like rather than just being dialogue dispensing machines.

The other characters i can at least stand to some degree but the actress who plays skye gives off this vibe of smugness in almost every scene she's in which ruins her character for me.

I had a similar reaction. She was kind of meh for me, I didn't dislike her but I didn't really like her. Then I saw all the over the top hate she's been getting, here and elsewhere, and it's made me pay a lot mroe attention to her character and actually start to like her. She's definitely not perfect, but she's not the awful character some people would like to make her out to be.

I say this as a diehard Whedon fan .... AoS, so far, is pretty blah. This girl including. I don't really hate her but really wish they actually had some interesting characters instead of the boring tropes that are populating this show.

Also, can we please have a show about adults? How did these barely-twenty kids get these jobs? It feels like a damn high school group and not a team of professionals. (Before anyone jumps down my throat, there is nothing wrong about teen/young adult characters, or shows about them. I just wish there were more competent adults who would be believable in the role of a secret government agents.... basically I miss SG1)

Sorry for the rant, but i really had such high hopes for this show and my heart is crushed with disappointment :(

There seems to be plenty of hate for Ward too. Does he get one of these too or is that too un-pc?

Eh. I use the parts where she and Agent Ward are on screen just the two of them as the times I take bathroom breaks. I find both of them less than compelling.

I am just sad that I haven't bonded with any of the characters yet, I am just waiting for the moment where I go "aww, that is my girl/boy and I love you until Whedon undoubtedly kills you, because that is what he does to all my favourites" and it makes me a bit sad, the whole show is just meh right now, I enjoy it, but the dialogue isn't as good as it could be...

then again, I might just be expecting too much from it

I actually haven't said anything bad about the show yet, which is super weird for me. I actually like it so I guess we'll just wait and see. As for Skye, I don't hate her or love her. I'm just kinda mellow and seeing what happens.

I don't get the hate either, I don't think she's the most amazing character ever but she's okay.

I knew the second there was a badly-written female character for which a lot of people were voicing their dislike, we'd get a backlash (and accusations of misogyny). Oh internet, you never fail me.

And yet, Ward takes as much if not more shit for being a terribly-written character played by an equally bad actor and... ... ...oddly enough, no one cares.

She's just not believable

I just don't find her believable as a person.
Living in a van but having perfect body, perfect hair, perfect makeup, while somehow also being a genius...I want to believe, but I don't yet. Honestly, all it would take to make me take her more seriously would be to wash her face a bit and keep up with the growing backstory of her life. That'll help make her more real. Right now, I just find her too "magical" to be real.

The fact that everyone thinks she's not believable makes me question my sanity. Or cry.

I mean, the whole "how does a hacker living out of a van have hair that good" type of unbelievable, I get. But everything else - dialogue, personality, etc - that everyone calls unbelievable? Those are the things I like about her, and I like them specifically because they are all traits that remind me of a great deal of my friends and other people I know in real life.

So when everyone here says they're unbelievable...

My problem with her mainly comes from her trying *too hard* to be snarky. I see that Whedon wants her to be the Tony Stark of the team but the dialogue is SO BAD and her acting is so mediocre, I just can't like her.

"I thought I joined SHIELD not fitness club." Really now?
