People chewing with their mouths open or making a lot of noise when eating.

The loo roll being gone when I go to use the toilet, it's more that when I use up the loo roll I always make sure to grab a new one out after, but so many other people I know don't do this.

Flicking through channels during an advert break, this one winds me up the most tbh, mostly because it's pointless since nearly all the other channels will be on advert breaks too and y'know what? I don't actually want to miss any part of this show/movie I'm watching. Stop it.

You just have to kill one tiny whale and we will be married forever or at least until one of us fail at the full moon sacrifices...

Re: What Time of Day Does the Mail Arrive?

[personal profile] caerbannog 2014-03-05 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Anywhere from 7am to 6pm. There's been no set time, it depends on how busy they are really - and we're close to the post office :x I guess there's a trend for things to arrive by 3pm but I've signed off packages at 6pm as they're heading back got the day...and I've missed packages that were at 6am! I think the area list gets randomised a bit as to if we're morn or arvo delivery.

If you are 5'8 and 130, there is literally no way you are fat, Hollywood-wise or not. Hollywood has some weird standards, but 130 at 5'8 is not considered fat.

Forgive me for not answering your question (I'd prefer not to for reasons related to career).

This is relevant to my interests though, and I hope you won't mind me asking when, approximately, in college they did start? Are they frequent still? Have you noticed any kind of pattern to them?

I ask because these things are pretty poorly understood as far as sleep disorders go, and any additional info, no matter if anecdotal is a benefit to me.

Could you delete this thread: http://fandomsecrets.dreamwidth.org/972003.html?thread=727227619#cmt727227619

I didn't realize that there was a similar one already posted.

...I only write one-half of a pairing genderswapped per fic, but I alternate from fic to fic. I dunno why, I just find it interesting.

I'm not in Teen Wolf, though. Derek is the uberbuff guy, I take it?

No fucking way. Tell me that's not true? I will not watch this movie if that's what they're trying to pass off.

Well, I'm not tough at all physically, so I guess having some psychological toughness balances things out

But I'm pretty sure that most smut!fics are the writer's fantasies? At least that's how it is for me, most of the smut I write starts out as wank material.

Basically I think "dates" are becoming less official and more ambiguous. People will meet and absolutely ask if the other person wants to get coffee sometime or meet up for a drink, but not the whole dinner/movie/one person is expected to pay for everything shtick, at least in my experience. Sometimes it's not clear whether it's just to hang out and get to know each other as friends or if there's romantic interest. From an American perspective, how else do you get to know someone but by spending time with them?

Re: Do you observe Lent? if so, what are you giving up this year?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I've tried giving up chocolate and Diet Coke (because I drink too much and it's not good for me), but the headaches from caffeine withdrawal. And the repeated failures to stick it out make me feel like... well, a failure. So maybe I should try to think up something realistic as well. :)

Censoring swear words with asterisks, either replace like [dang] or just write out the real thing. You're not fooling anyone with those asterisks, you're just making it harder to read.

I actually had the opposite reaction. I hated Kate, was apprehensive about Evangeline Lilly being in the Hobbit movie, and ended up really liking Tauriel.

I would be really interested in learning about things in other cultures, especially common, everyday things that I never give a thought about. I approve of a regular thread.

My current curiosity is if they sell Girl Scout Cookies outside the U.S. Have you ever had any?

Got a chunk of a Kim Possible fanfic in which Kim and Ron interrupt what they assume to be Drakken's latest global domination attempt. What is actually going on is... not that.

The door that Wade’s directions led them to was alone in a stretch of corridor, indicating a large room behind it. Aside from that it was completely ordinary, but if Ron strained he could her Drakken’s voice behind it. Kim caught his eye and nodded, indicating that she heard it too. She grabbed the knob and threw the door open. “Hold it right there, Drakken!”

It was a large room, a living room dominated by a picture window that covered one whole wall and looked out over the bay. There was a couch facing the window, with Drakken stretched across half of it and Shego leaning back against his chest. His arms were around her stomach, her head was resting on his shoulder, and they were wearing the dopey, contented expressions of two people who were so happy just to be with each other that nothing else mattered.

They looked like an ordinary couple, hiding out from the world and stealing a moment alone. Ron was absolutely certain now that this mission had been a bad idea. “Uh-oh.”

It wasn’t exactly a surprise. Sure, the two of them had been quiet about their relationship since the alien invasion – so quiet that even after almost a year the tabloids hadn’t caught anything more incriminating than Drakken’s arm around Shego’s waist when they were navigating through a crowd or her hand drifting into his when they were on stage – but if they thought they could actually hide it they were crazy. Even the way they yelled at each other when their latest scheme was getting foiled had turned into a kind of flirting. Ron suspected that this wasn’t the first time he and Kim had almost caught them out.

The quiet little scene only lasted for the fraction of a second it took for Shego to register their presence and react. Her eyes widened and then narrowed. She twisted out of Drakken’s embrace and onto her feet with her usual violent grace, dropping into attack position with her hands burning. She was in civilian clothing – a loose green shirt and well-worn jeans – which Ron thought should have made her look less intimidating. It didn’t. So much for this mission being less life-threatening.

“Kim Possible! What the hell are you doing here?”

Drakken’s voice brought even Shego up short. She straightened a little, turning back to look at him. The flame in her hands went out. “Don’t think I’ve ever heard you swear at the kids,” she said mildly.

“It’s justified,” he snarled, coming up to stand behind her. Like Shego, he was dressed in casual clothes, including what looked like a short, open lab coat that was noticeably rumpled where she’d been leaning against it. Unlike Shego, it did make him look less intimidating, but the anger in his face more than made up for it.

“Wasn’t suggesting otherwise.” Shego’s threatening look didn’t change, but all the same she seemed to relax when Drakken got closer, like he was draining some of the tension out of her just by being there.

“‘Kids’?” Ron repeated, indignation replacing his suspicion and confusion.

“It’s better than what I call you when you’re not here.”

“And ‘not here’ is exactly where you should be right now,” Drakken added.

If we keep this up, women/womyn/womxn will morph into wyvern, and I would totally be up for that.
