I am truly disappointed that the knd fandom failed to produce the femslash after that ep. truly.

18. I know how you feel. Maybe you should just try talking to him? My boyfriend mentioned wanting to join [livejournal.com profile] damned a couple months ago, and I told him how uncomfortable I was with the idea. He actually agreed that it would be kind of awkward.

24. Rose. ♥

38. Her username is [livejournal.com profile] theladyfeylene, and she's a really nice, really awesome person. ♥ She's got more fic on her LJ than she does in her FF.net account.

48. I...kind of agree, but I really shouldn't talk. I dress up like a retarded Victorian five year old on a regular basis. I know I look dumb in my frilly bloomers, but I enjoy it anyway. I think it's probably the same for the Naruto fans who wear their headbands daily. It's a personal choice.

[identity profile] thanatoast.livejournal.com 2007-12-05 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
B-but frilly bloomers and infinitely more awesome than Narutard headbands. And that's a fact. :D

Okay, so stuff like pantie-hose skirts kind of speaks for itself. But, just out of random curiosity, what is it about "daddy issues" that equals gay? Just wondering.

1. What really freaks me out is that these people think they're being really noble and high-minded by siding with these guys. Gah. No, you're all scary. Really, really scary. Never get involved in politics, please.

2. Have you seen the Bleach Unclyclopedia article? Ever since I've seen it, I've been glad there isn't a TK line, because I would spend all my money on it. All. of. My money.

31. I kinda get annoyed that more people don't like Holly Black's books, or other stories where elves aren't such hot shit. I don't really care if you think it's too goth, look at how AWESOME the fairies are! SERIOUSLY!

36. I'll support any pairing involving Kyouya. I wish I were kidding.

41. PRINCE OF EGYPT I LOVE YOU.

I'm an athiest and I love that movie to pieces. No lie. And Moses is disturbingly hot. disturbingly. So is Ramses, but at least he isn't so biblical.

Can I ask what the difference between Wild Words and Anime Ace is? Not mocking you, just curious, as an editor. o.o My scanlation group said either was fine, but I didn't couldn't see the difference between them, so I kept using Anime Ace since I already had that installed.

#9, are you kidding me? This is just pathetic. I can't defend Albel/Nel, because I don't get it either, but...what the flying hell.

First off all, take into consideration the time period Elicoor II is at in the game. 17th Century Earth. You ever seen Louis XIV (http://academic.brooklyn.cuny.edu/history/virtual/portrait/louis14.jpg)? How about this (http://www.columbia.edu/itc/barnard/theater/kirkland/3136/17th%20Century%20Gallery/pages/1671.2.htm)? Or this (http://www.columbia.edu/itc/barnard/theater/kirkland/3136/17th%20Century%20Gallery/pages/1631.2.htm)? By our standards, these guys all look like they're TTLY FLAMING OMG!1 But guess what? Louis XIV was straight as an arrow. Fashion changes over time. Therefore, saying that he wears a skirt in the 17th century doesn't prove a damn thing about his sexuality. If they looked at us, they'd think we looked weird too.

Second off, I'm pretty sure I saw his ass in-game. There is no thong. There is no underwear, period. Straight guys go commando too.

Third off, the hair, the "panty hose"? Go on Google, look up bands like Ratt, Poison, Motley Crue, Nitro--and hey, what is this? They all have really fluffy hair, some wear bellyshirts, some wear pantyhose, and they wear makeup? O LAWDY, THEY MUST BE GAY. Wrong again! (Unless you're looking at the lead singer of King Cobra, because he decided he wanted to be a woman.) All of these bands had TONS of female groupies. They were KNOWN for having sex with a massive amount of girls. Hell, even if you look at early Mick Jagger! While he didn't wear makeup, he wore bellyshirts. But Mick Jagger is about as far from gay as it gets. Many of those men have a feminine shape as well!

So yes, heterosexual males WOULD dress like that willingly.

"Obsession with the male protagonist"? I hate to break it to you, but SO3 is a game that you control. (Did you actually play it?) You can go throughout the entire game and talk to Albel maybe...five times. About the whole "Do you hate me?" thing? Fayt directly mocked Albel, and it probably appears to Albel that Fayt is the leader of this group. (I'd say he is as well.) Therefore why would he go to someone who isn't important instead of going straight to the leader?

If you talk to Albel outside one of the carts in Peterny on the west when he asks you why you think Airyglyph lost the war? Choose the first answer, and Albel will ask Fayt how anyone can be happy if the woman they love is starving. While he could've easily said "HEY I LIKE MANSEX PLEASE LET ME STICK MY ASS OUT YEAH BABY YEAH", he didn't. That proves that either a) Albel is versed in conventional love and has no interest at all in it or b) he likes girls.

Daddy issues? Not so much. Albel has issues with himself, not with his father. He wants to become stronger because he killed his father. And to be honest, I fail to see what feeling guilty about your own stupidity getting your father has anything to do with being gay.

"Half-assed attempt at masculinity"? HE DOESN'T HAVE AN ARM UNDER THERE. He's in a war, he uses that as a weapon. He didn't put that on singing that "I'LL MAKE A MAN OUT OF YOO" song from Mulan. I have far less of a problem with this "half-assed attempt at masculinity" than morons writing Albel jacking off insertguyhere with his left hand. Since he uh, doesn't have one. It's like putting a penis through a cheese grater. AND PEOPLE LIKE THIS. -14 for humanity.

Not everyone in Airyglyph is dressed in full armor either. Also, Albel himself says that he wouldn't even be in Airyglyph if he wasn't required to fulfill a duty; he was born, raised, and wants to return to Kirlsa. That's a lot less cold.

Now that I'm done with that, what the hell gives you the idea that Nel is a lesbian? She has short hair? She kicks ass? She has an attitude? She has friends that are girls? Woops, I have friends that are girls too! If I didn't see my best female friend for a long time I'd probably give her a hug too. Not because I want to get hot boobie action, but because I care about her. Do you not hug your friends? :'D Aw. How sad.

It's pretty sad how you can't get past appearances and stereotypes.

Not the OP, but, you know, you can scream about how these characters aren't gay until you're blue in the face, but the truth is there's no solid proof they're straight either.

7. You and I are on the same wavelength, here. I can't stand FF even though I've attempted to play them a billion times. I feel like I'm missing out, but the battles are so frustrating! That's not how it would really be, just standing there while something attacks you. Ugh. You're not elitist, trust me. I understand how you feel.

11. Yuna's always made me smile, and even though I'm not all that attached to her, your secret made me smile, too. Your words are perfect. Thank you.

13. Bushido <3 I would read that smut. *coughcough*

33. If he showered, he'd be just like everyone else. :O I'm not offended or anything, but he is fascinating because he doesn't sit straight and all those other quirks. I'm tired of silly bishies; L is a breath of fresh air. Viva la L!

47. This girl a few computers down from me in class loves them and is even making a presentation about them. I could care less about the Jonas Brothers, but I have been wondering about slashing them...did you actually find anything? Oh my, I'm never going to be able to look her in the face again.

7. TURN BASED BATTLE SYSTEMS SUCK. As much as I liked Final Fantasy and Pokémon, their battles were SO BORING for me D: Golden Sun, on the other hand, was incredibly fun and it was turn based. I think that's just a game that knows how to do it in a way that isn't horrible. But in general, they're snooze fests.

Additionally, if you haven't played a Zelda title yet...do it :'D

11. Yunaaaa ♥ I concur. I concur a lot.

31. OH. :'D I love that side to fairy fiction. Tithe and Valiant ftw.

35. KND...has a fandom? NEAT.

46. I've actually seen a good amount of Sesshomaru/Kagome floating around in my time o_o; I say wear your colors, look for other fans and ignore anyone who bitches at you. Canon isn't everything.

Oh and 48: Hahaha, I don't go that far. But my experiences with some of the people who wear them (a lot of them who I almost consider friends) have been horrifying. (Can we talk about something besides anime? I mean, I like it and everything, but...)

But I swear, every TIME I have seen a person wearing one of those fucking things, their mouths have just VOMITED bad Japanese and "OMG NARUTO-KUN AND GAARA-KUN" and shit like that.

Also, copypasta from another comment:

"Srsly, this guy at a convention with one of those fucking headbands walked up to some friends of mine and said "LET ME SHOW YOU MY JITSU" and started having hand seizures. "

So, sane Naruto/everyday cosplayers who are offended by this secret? You are in a SERIOUS minority.

4. I agree. That whole fiasco is embarrassing. But...I never really payed much attention to them, since I was too preoccupied with their drastic transformations and 'star healing uterus' attack or something. That was too funny.
Mamoru just never impressed me, even in the manga when Usagi is a bit more mature versus her anime counterpart.
The only Mamoru version I ended up respecting and liking was in PGSM.

15. I'm the same way. I miss my Sailor Moon fandom friends.

25. Not true. I saw The Ring before I saw the Japanese version and I found the American one to be more powerful because it was what I saw first. They both have different suspense elements but I think they work well on their own and both tell the same story. The same for the American Grudge and the Japanese version.

40. Repeat I believe.

45. I agree. I'd love to find a good community. But the type of RP I'd like to do would involve an original plot and no fan Rp'in characters. But...with the lack of that interest here (and in other places I've found) it seems I'm out of luck. =(

48. It makes me cringe inside.

'star healing uterus' attack or something

STAR GENTLE UTERUS. Also, STAR SERIOUS LASER. ... and I can't remember what the third one was. Anyway, best attack names ever, totally. XD

I've actually seen a fair amount of that in my run with Inuyasha, although I remember always having problems with those stories because they would go and bash Kagome or something. I ship Miroku/Kagome myself, and there I have the same problem except it's Sango (or Inuyasha) being bashed. If you can do it without bashing the other character(s), I'm all for alternate pairings.
